#617 Heshikiri Hasebe

This Nendoroid is the immensely sharp sword of Oda Nobunaga, Heshikiri Hasebe. His name is unusually descriptive — "pressure slash"; according to a legend, Oda once killed his servant hiding in a cupboard by first hacking through the cupboard and then just letting the sword fall down on its own. His history is linked to Oda's in a large part, although he went to the Kuroda clan later.

The blade was forged by a blacksmith named Hasebe Kunishige who gave the blade part of his name. It was made in 1312 CE and is still in considerable good condition even to the current day. For people who wish to view the sword, it is available for public viewing in the Fukuoka City Museum in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan.

#608 Hotarumaru

This figurine represents an adorable Nendoroid version of ootachi (over a meter long) Hotarumaru, Korezumi Aso's sword. Despite the very long blade, the character is depicted as a small child. He doesn’t like being treated as a kid but can act quite childish at times.

The blade was forged in 1297 CE by the swordsmith named Rai Kunitoshi. During a battle, the owner Korezumi Aso was injured and the sword was also badly damaged. However, when Aso woke up the next morning the sword was then magically repaired overnight after Aso had a dream of a swarm of fireflies (hotaru) surrounding the sword. The blade then gained the name Hotarumaru. He became a national treasure, but then disappeared after World War II, and reforged after a crowdfunding campaign using the original process in 2017.

This Nendoroid is Honebami Toushirou, a laconic sword with no memory but of the flames. Used to be a naginata.

Honebami means "bone gnawer" after a story where this sword cut through a man's ribs in a complete accident, one of many. Ultimately, given to the Kyoto shrine where Toyotomi Hideyoshi lies.

#891 Nikkari Aoe

This figurine is the oowakizashi Nikkari Aoe in Nendoroid form.

"Nikkari" means "smiling wide", and comes from a story of him killing the ghost of a grinning woman (and her ghost child too). His white cape is really a Shintō garb shiroshōzoku, possibly as a reminder of his own regret of slashing them.

He was shortened at some point to remove his previous owner's name which used to be on the missing part.
