Ruby Kurosawa is a first-year student in Uranohoshi Girls' High School and one of the main characters of LoveLive! Sunshine!! Ruby is a member of Aquors and a member of the sub-group "CYaRon!" She is Dia Kurosawa's younger sister. Ruby is shy and timid, causing her to find it tough to get along with others. She is also easily frightened and can be seen throughout the series screaming when she doesn’t like something. Apart from her father she hasn’t talked to any males making it hard for her to interact with the opposite gender as well. While she is easily upset and somewhat fearful Ruby will toughen up to stand up for her sister when needed.

Dia Kurosawa is a third-year student in Uranohoshi Girls' High School and one of the main characters of LoveLive! Sunshine!! Dia is a member of Aquors, the Aquors sub-group "AZALEA," and the president of the student council. She is Ruby Kurosawa's older sister. Dia comes from a wealthy family and speaks in a very mature and refined manner. She is very polite even when she is speaking with her friends. Despite her proper and dignified attitude she has a short temper and gets angry quite easily.

Kanan Matsuura is a third-year student in Uranohoshi Girls' High School and the original leader of Aquors. She is also a member of the sub-group "AZALEA." Kanan is a huge supporter of her friends, doing everything she can to make sure they get what she believes they deserve. She has a very calm and mature personality and usually puts others’ needs above her own. Sometimes her support may go beyond what is needed and she ends up supporting a decision which she doesn’t necessarily agree with.

Chika is a social butterfly, very energetic, and generally a positive person. She can at times be impatient which makes her a target for teasing, which only empowers her further. Chika is quite a positive character however there are times when she feels down but tries to hide it for the sake of the other members.
