Eiji Okumura Banana Fish - Nendoroid

Banana Fish is a crime thriller anime that was aired on the 5th of July, 2018. Eiji Okumura is one of the main characters to appear in the story. He is a young Japanese man who comes to New York as a photographer but unfortunately gets caught up in various dangerous gangs. Eiji is a popular character due to his cute, kind, and curious nature even when faced with dangerous situations being able to become close with people who would normally be quite dangerous like the other main character Ash Lynx. His caring nature captured the hearts of many fans with many products being released. One of the popular products being produced is the Nendoroid figures such as the “Nendoroid Banana Fish Eiji Okumura” which shows off the cute side of Eiji allowing many fans to enjoy him in various poses and situations.

Enjoy the Eiji Nendoroid with its cute features. He wears a blue shirt underneath a red shirt with a picture of a bird and the words 'nori' printed on in black. He wears a navy blazer and grey pants and shoes. The Nendoroid also comes with extra optional parts to enjoy a wide variety of scenes. His usual red bag is able to be attached to him as well as chopsticks and a bowl of rice with natto on top to show off his cute Japanese side. The Eiji Nendoroid also comes with three different expression plates. The first one is a serious face, his dark eyes stare straight ahead with his mouth in a straight line. The second expression shows Eiji smiling happily with his mouth wide open. His eyes are closed and curved as though he doesn't have a care in the world and is enjoying the moment. The third expression is a shy and pouty face. His eyebrows are slightly slanted and his eyes are looking slightly to the side as though he was embarrassed. His mouth is shut like an upside-down 'U' but his cheeks are pink and blushing meaning he doesn't quite hate what is happening but still needs to show his embarrassed feeling. There are many ways to pose the Eiji Nendoroid. He is able to hold the chopsticks and bowl of rice in his hands or have his hands up in an 'L' shape as though he were looking at the best place to take a picture. There is also an option to make it seem as though his hands are tucked into his pockets or just have his hands out and relaxed.

About Eiji Okumura

Eiji is a young Japanese man, 19 years old, however, due to his youthful Asian appearance, he is thought to be much younger than his actual age and is often treated as a child. Eiji is very kind and sometimes can be very brave and stubborn.

Eiji was once a very skilled and gifted pole vaulter however after an accident he is forced to retire. As he was forced to give up his dream he had entered a slight slump and was taken by his friend who is a journalist to New York as a change of pace. In New York surrounded by a very different environment, people, and scenery he is able to enjoy himself.

About Eiji Okumura: Abilities

Eiji was very skilled in pole vaulting, enough to be offered many scholarships to continue being a competitive pole vaulter. However, due to an unfortunate event, he is forced to retire. Even though he is forced to retire from professional pole vaulting he still retains his skills and is able to vault over a high brick wall with a rusty pipe to escape his confinement and tell the police where he and the rest of his friends were captured. At first, Eiji had never touched a gun before but after receiving teaching from Ash and lots of practice Eiji is able to shoot and aim well.

Other Important Banana Fish Characters

Some other important characters are Ash Lynx and Shunichi Ibe. After flying over to New York and interviewing Ash, Eiji slowly grows closer to him being interested in his life and sympathizing over the pain and trauma he suffered through to become such a strong and confident man. While Eiji was still a competitive pole vaulter Shunichi was someone who got close to him when he was taking his picture as a journalist.

Ash Lynx

Eiji first approaches Ash Lynx when he is helping Shunichi with his report on street gangs. He innocently yet bravely asks to see his gun and usually, Ash wouldn’t trust anyone with his gun he allows Eiji to hold it. Ash is someone who cares about his allies but doesn’t trust easily as he is the boss of his own gang but gradually warms up to Eiji’s soft and caring nature. The two of them later start to depend on each other and wish to keep each other safe.

Shunichi Ibe

Shunichi had taken a picture of Eiji when he was pole vaulting and got his first breakthrough thanks to that picture. He cares and is worried about Eiji’s mental health after the accident and takes him to New York as his assistant to report about the street gangs there. He is caring for Eiji and ready to give him advice about Ash.
