About Corrin

Corrin is the main character of “Fire Emblem Fates” and is a member of both Nohr and Hoshido royalty and is the central character in the war between the kingdoms.

About Corrin: Background

Corrin was initially born to the Hoshidan royal family. However, she was kidnapped when she was young and was raised by the royal family in Nohr, becoming siblings with Xander, Camilla, Leo, and Elise. Due to her lineage, she is forced to choose a side when war occurs between Hoshido and Nhor. However, due to her strong ties with both royal family siblings, both royal siblings are very reluctant to fight against each other and often show mercy.

Corrin is a very kind and charismatic person. She cares deeply for those around her and anyone who needs any help. Her choices always reflect her wanting to help and pick the option that is “better.” Her charismatic nature is seen often, as she charms and attracts many people to her. There are instances when she has managed to convince the opposing soldiers to join her cause. Corrin’s personality is not heavily affected by the gender chosen in the game. However, the male is often more laid-back, while the female Corrin is feistier.

About Corrin: Abilities

Due to being a member of Royalty, Corrin carries the blood of the First Dragons and can tap into the power of Dragon Veins. This allows Corrin to alter the terrain of a map. Her royal status also means that she has the Nobility skill, which will enable her to gain further experience if equipped, and Dragon Fang has a high activation rate and helps increase the damage of attacks.

Corrin has two offensive options, Swords and Dragonstones, and can also transform into a dragon but needs the Dragonstone to control this. She is also able to use the Yato sword, which is the only weapon to have no drawbacks or adverse side effects (excluding the usual katana defense and resistance drops). This sword holds immense power and will grow to deal 75% damage to enemies that have the Dragonskin in the final battle.

Other Important Fire Emblem Characters

Fire Emblem is known for its complex characters. Corrin, in particular, has a very complicated relationship with multiple characters. In particular, we see significant interactions between Corrin and Ryoma, Xander, and King Garon.

Ryoma

Ryoma is the eldest of the Hoshidan royal siblings and is the half-sibling of Corrin. He recognizes Corrin as his sibling and shows great kindness and joy at reuniting with him despite not knowing him for long. He tells Corrin that he should return to Hoshido as it is his birthright and states that he will protect Corrin from Nohr’s attacks when he does. In particular, the attacks by Xander, who has deemed Corrin a traitor.

Xander

Xander is the eldest of the Nohrian royal siblings. He is very protective of his country Nohr and will often charge into battle for the sake of Nohr. While he is an antagonist of sorts, he is very caring towards his family and shows great kindness towards Corrin. We see Xander trying to bring Corrin back to Nohr on multiple occasions. However, while he fights to protect his country, Xander disagrees with Garon’s plans but attests that he must do what is necessary for his country.

King Garon

Garon is the boss character in “Fire Emblem Fates,” and the King of Nohr raises Corrin. It is later revealed that Corrin was kidnapped by Garon and then presented as a royal member of Nohr. Corrin is forced to choose between defending Hoshido and not following a man who has killed many innocent lives or staying with Nohr.
