Ryuk Death Note - Nendoroid

The super-popular crime fantasy anime Death Note was first aired on the 3rd of October, 2006. Due to the original storytelling, the series grew lots of popularity as it was not the typical detective story. Death Note is a story about mind games and it shows the true nature of people. One of the popular characters and also the mascot of the series would have to be Ryuk. Ryuk is a death god who is very bored and wishes for entertainment in the human world. Despite his slightly scary looks, he has a very cute side where he loves to eat apples and would try to act cute. Due to his popularity, there have been all sorts of products released of his design and one of the most popular products is “Nendoroid Ryuk”. This is a figure that shows the smaller and cuter version of Ryuk as a Nendoroid.

Nendoroid Ryuk

Enjoy the cute, dorky, yet also scary Ryuk Nendoroid. He has been painted in black, grey, and blue to recreate the unique death god from the Death Note series. His skin has been painted a mix of grey and blue with his head being a lighter blue color. His clothes and wings are black with his wings being able to be articulated. His jaw is also able to be articulated to show his large red tongue inside. His lips are dark grey with his teeth being white and sharp. His eyes are yellow with a red pupil to recreate him from the series. There are also extra optional features to make Ryuk come to life with his favorite food, a bright red apple that can come whole or just the core to show he has been eating it. He can also hold his death note in his hand. The stand Ryuk comes with is also able to make it seem as though he is flying in mid-air to further recreate some of the fan’s favorite scenes.

About Ryuk

Ryuk is a death god who is quite bored. He wishes to be entertained and goes to find entertainment in the human world. Ryuk is a very laidback death god, he doesn’t force Light, the one who picked up the death note, to do anything. He was just very pleasantly surprised to see that Light had written down a lot of names and killed many many humans. Most humans that get the death note do try to test it out but are afraid of its power. He thinks of Light’s plan to try to change the world as amusing and greatly enjoys watching things play out. Although he appears to be relaxed and enjoying the way things are turning out Ryuk is not an ally of Light, he appears to help Light sometimes but in the end, Ryuk is a death god.

About Ryuk: Background

Ryuk can be cunning and tricked the king of the death gods into giving him another death note. Ryuka had planned to drop his death note into the human world but wished to keep another one just in case something happened. He then dropped the death note randomly into the human world to see if anything interesting would happen. The world that the death gods live in is very boring, they would either gamble, sleep, or look for humans to kill to extend their life. Ryuk was very bored of such a repetitive and monotonous life and decided to spice things up.

About Ryuk: Abilities

Ryuk holds a death note that can kill humans just by writing their names down in the notebook. To use the death note they must know the name and the face of the person they are going to kill otherwise the death note won’t work. As Ryuk is a death god his eyes have the power to see the name of any person and their lifespan above their heads. He is also able to materialize and touch things and if he wants to he can pass through objects. Ryuk is also able to live for a very long life as long as he keeps killing humans. The lives of humans he kills with the death note, he is then able to add the remaining lifespan to his own, allowing him to live a long life.

Other Important Death Note Characters

Ryuk is a death god and can only be seen by other death gods and if a human has touched his death note. Light picks up the death note Ryuk dropped so he follows him around and they spend a lot of time together. As the second Kira, Misa gains the ability to be able to see Ryuk and she is also the next one to possess Ryuk’s death note, making him stay around her instead of Ryuk.

Light Yagami

Light Yagami is the owner of Ryuk’s death note and is also the one who brings Ryuk the most entertainment. Since Ryuk was so bored in the death god world he greatly appreciates the actions Light takes, as he is a death god he doesn’t care about the lives of humans.

Misa Amane

Ryuk doesn’t think much of Misa Amane apart from her sometimes providing him with his favorite apples. He knows that Light only thinks of her as a pawn and doesn’t think twice about her exchanging half of her lifespan to gain his death god’s eyes. Even though Ryuk is a death god he is still a male and can sometimes feel embarrassed when Misa expresses too much affection and body contact.
