Shinsuke Kita Haikyu!! - Nendoroid

The long-awaited fourth season of Haikyu!! expanded the large cast to include more threats for Karasuno. Hyogo Prefecture's Inarizaki High School serves as the final obstacle between Karasuno and the fated battle against Nekoma. The Inarizaki captain, Shinsuke Kita, still feels intimidating in his chibi figure, "Nendoroid Haikyu!! To The Top Kita Shinsuke".

Inarizaki's stoic captain makes his presence known in the Nendoroid figure line. Kita wears his captain's jersey. The figure also comes with his maroon team jacket, draped over his shoulders and sculpted to appear caught in a breeze. His reserved, logical personality comes through in three face plates: neutral, sidelong, and gently smiling. Extra accessories allow fans to recreate action shots from on and off the court. Interchangeable arm parts allow Kita to pose with the Inarizaki banner or with his care package for a sick Atsumu Miya.

About Shinsuke Kita

Shinsuke Kita is a third year at Inarizaki High School and the volleyball team captain. Notably, Kita is the only captain in the series who isn't a regular player on his team. Like the other members of Inarizaki, his name references a fox species, the Ezo Red Fox, or kita kitsune in Japanese.

About Shinsuke Kita: Background

Kita is hardworking, stoic, and blunt, especially toward his teammates. He strictly adheres to his routine, believing that the process and doing things correctly is more important than results. He believes that he is no genius, simply "a result of all the small things [he does] every day." His philosophy comes from his childhood and the time he spent with his very traditional grandmother.

As a result, his teammates have given him the nickname "Mr. Perfect Kita" (or "Mr. No Gaps Kita Shinsuke" in the anime). When Kita earned the title of Captain at the end of his second year, he uncharacteristically became overwhelmed by his emotions and cried. His teammate Rintaro Suna was especially shocked, as he thought Kita was a "robot" type of guy.

About Shinsuke Kita: Abilities

Kita possesses no stand-out skill in volleyball. However, as a member of a team appearing at Nationals, his base-level skills are very high. Like other mature characters in the series, Kita is a defensive specialist. He has solid receiving skills and can cover the gaps in the backline left by Inarizaki's more aggressive offensive line. He also has the ability to deliver consistent jump float serves.

Most importantly, Kita's greatest attribute is his calm demeanor. His presence on the court drastically impacts the overall focus of Inarizaki. Kita rarely gets nervous, as he sees no logical reason or point to feeling so. His steady confidence helps rein in the wilder second years when needed, often giving Inarizaki a palpable advantage.

Other Important Haikyu!! Characters

As of the fourth Haikyuu!! anime season, Kita doesn't interact with any characters outside of his teammates. However, his relationships with his teammates and his role as captain make Inarizaki a powerhouse team at Nationals.

Atsumu Miya

Atsumu Miya is a second year at Inarizaki High School and the volleyball team's starting setter. His skills earned him a place at the Youth Nationals camp and the title "Japan's Best High School Setter." Atsumu is dynamic and excitable but has a tendency to act immaturely and selfishly, putting him at odds with Kita.

Despite his provocative nature, Atsumu has a good relationship with his fellow teammates. However, his love and dedication to volleyball often overshadows his judgment. In a flashback, Atsumu pushes himself through practice despite being sick. Kita scolds him and sends him home to rest. Atsumu angrily agrees, but cries upon seeing a care package Kita assembled for him, showing the responsibility Kita feels for his teammates.

Aran Ojiro

Aran Ojiro is a third year at Inarizaki High School. He is also the vice-captain of the volleyball team and the team's ace. He has a long history with the Miya twins, as they met at a youth camp in elementary school. While not explicitly stated, it is largely implied Aran is Kita's closest friend on the volleyball team.

Aran is good-natured and mature, often acting as the comedic "straight man" to the second years' antics. His volleyball skills are also extremely impressive. Like Kotaro Bokuto, Aran was just outside the ranking of the top three high school aces in Japan. He can spike above a triple block wall, demonstrating his jumping power and excellent timing. His jump serve is also extremely powerful, disrupting the opponent team's defensive strategies.
