Moca Aoba is a student at Haneoka Girls' High School in the BanG Dream! franchise. She is also the lead guitarist in the band Afterglow. While largely indifferent towards everything, Moca will do almost anything for her friends.

About Moca Aoba: Background

Moca has a laid back, sleepy personality. She speaks in a slow, soft monotone and rarely expresses big emotion. However, she is unexpectedly playful, often slyly teasing her friends. Moca is the type that can't get into something unless she really loves it. The three things she gets passionate about are instruments, food, and her friends. Moca is also very self-assured and often comments on her own cuteness and charm in a deadpan manner. She occasionally calls herself "Moca-chan" when feeling cheeky and comes up with cutesy, annoying nicknames for others.

While she comes off playful and confident, Moca does not handle change or conflict well. Her dislike of conflict often puts her in the position of mediator within the band. However, Moca is the first one to worry when Ran Mitake starts getting into her family's ikebana business. She worries that Ran will outgrow the band and eventually leave them behind.

About Moca Aoba: Abilities

Like most Afterglow members, Moca lacked any experience with guitar before they started the band. However, Moca is the type to see anything she takes on all the way through. However, she can only focus on one thing at a time. Due to her loyalty to her friends, she has decided that guitar will be her new, sole focus. After gaining more guitar experience, Moca now uses her talents to write music, particularly "deep" melodies.

Overall, Moca's greatest strength is her dedication to what she loves. This dedication often translates into new skills. Moca's love of food gives her an uncanny ability to identify the source of any baked good by taste. She also collects bakery point cards and developed a strategy to fill up cards for maximum rewards.

Saaya Yamabuki

Saaya Yamabuki is a student at Hanasakigawa Girls' High School and the drummer in Poppin'Party. She is a kind, hardworking girl and often acts as the "older sister" type to those around her. Saaya is one of the few members of Poppin'Party that had musical experience before joining the band. She was reluctant about joining at first due to a bad band experience in middle school. Her family owns the popular Yamabuki Bakery.

Her family bakery serves as the basis for her relationship with Moca. Moca is the self-proclaimed number one fan of Yamabuki Bakery. Her primary point card collection stems from her love of their bread. Moca expresses her playful side with Saaya. She once claimed that she would join the Yamabuki family and asked for a signature bread named in her honor.

Lisa Imai

Lisa Imai is a student at Haneoka Girls' High School and the bassist in Roselia. She is a fun, lively person and an avid follower of gyaru fashion. She also has a deep interest in domestic hobbies, like knitting and baking. However, she hides these hobbies since they clash with her image. Lisa is an extremely talented bassist and wowed the other members of Roselia at her audition.

Lisa works part-time at a convenience store with Moca. They developed a close bond through work and view each other as friends and confidants. Moca and Lisa confide in each other about their respective band problems with their best friends. Together, they get the resolve to confront Ran and Yukina, respectively, and save their bands and friendships.

Himari Uehara

Himari Uehara is a student at Haneoka Girls' High School. She is also the nominal leader and bassist for Afterglow. Himari is generally good-natured and cheerful but lacks the ability to assert herself. As a result, she buckles to Ran when it comes to band leadership, functioning more like a coordinator instead.

As members of Afterglow, Himari and Moca have been best friends since childhood. Himari is one of Moca's most frequent teasing victims, particularly about her weight and sentimentality. Despite her teasing, Moca adores Himari and tries to support her in her own way.
