Erwin Smith Attack on Titan - Nendoroid

Attack on Titan is a massively popular series that started from manga and the first season of the anime was released on the 7th of April 2013. Erwin Smith, commander of the survey corps, is an important character in the series as he is the one that decides the next course of action. Erwin is a serious man and he wishes to find out more about the world outside of the walls. Attack on Titan has gained massive popularity with attractions being made in Universal Studio in Japan. There are all sorts of merchandise available that have been released and one of the popular products is the Erwin Smith Nendoroid figure called the “Nendoroid Attack on Titan Erwin Smith”. This Nendoroid shows Erwin in a chibi-fied form making him look cute yet serious at the same time.

He wears plain grey pants with boots as well as the harnesses needed when using the 3D maneuvering gear. The signature green cape with the survey corps logo is printed on the back and sculpted as though the cape was billowing in the wind as the figure moves through the air. The cape is detachable to enjoy the Nendoroid figure in his casual uniform as well as his caped form. This Nendoroid also comes with a detachable 3D maneuvering gear that holds the spare blades and the figure can also be showcased while holding dual blades to seem as though he is fighting. Erwin also comes with various features such as an armless sleeve floating in the wind showing the scenes after he got his right arm bitten off by a titan. It is also possible to change his hair from his usual side parting to having his hair loose and giving him a fringe.

The Erwin Smith Nendoroid also comes with three different facial expressions. One is a serious face as though he is making a difficult decision with his eyebrows furrowed. Another expression is with his eyes and mouth wide open as though he were shouting important orders to his fellow members. The last one is a relaxed smiling face with his mouth smiling and open as though he is having a casual chat with another member of the corps.

About Erwin Smith

Erwin is the commander of the survey corps meaning he has high authority and he takes his responsibility seriously. Due to the Attack on Titan world being very brutal with many people being killed due to the titans Erwin may sometimes seem cold-hearted when he makes his decisions. He will sacrifice his comrades and even himself if it will make their mission succeed

About Erwin Smith: Background

As a young child, Erwin was very curious, he wanted to know more about the past, why their civilization ended up the way it did, and what existed outside of the walls. His father was a teacher who taught him many things allowing his curiosity to build. However, as Erwin grows up he learns to hide his curiosity as trying to find out the truth and having treacherous ideas would lead to dangerous situations for his family and himself.

About Erwin Smith: Abilities

As he is the commander of such a large group Erwin has great commanding and leading skills to allow for a successful mission. He knows when to cut his losses and quick decision-making skills that lead to sacrifices for the greater good. Erwin of course has been through training to be able to use the 3D maneuvering gear to be able to defeat the titans.

Other Important Attack on Titan Characters

Erwin is the commander of the survey corps and talks to many of the characters but the two he interacts with the most would be Levi Ackerman and Hange Zoë. These two characters have been in the corps for a long time and are members that he trusts greatly.

Levi Ackerman

Levi Ackerman is known as the strongest man, due to his Ackerman blood he has a much higher physical ability allowing him to slay even the most difficult and abnormal titans. Levi is an important character in the series as he is the captain of the main protagonist Eren Yeager. He helps to control Eren when he is in his titan form and is the only one who would be able to cut him out when he has shifted into a titan. Levi may seem very strict and serious however he is very caring and doesn’t wish to see any more of his comrades die. Making him push himself to be the best that he can be.

Hange Zoë

Hange Zoë’s gender has not been specified as the author stated that it was not important to the series but in the anime, Hange has been depicted as female. Hange is also a captain of another group in the survey corps and takes care of the scientific understanding of the titans. Hange is crucial to the series as she explains why the titans are so big without them being crushed by their own weight. Although she is quite an eccentric character she is exceedingly intelligent and Erwin trusts her enough to be the next leader after himself.
