OtapediaBloodborne - Nendoroid

Bloodborne is a video game that was developed exclusively for the PlayStation 4 that was released in March 2015. It was developed by FromSoftware, the same studio that brought beloved games like Dark Souls, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and the highly anticipated Elden Ring. Like the games that came before it, Bloodborne prides itself on its intense boss fights, but with faster gameplay and a gothic, Victorian-style aesthetic. Due to its unique twist on the classic Dark Souls style of combat and its gothic style, Bloodborne quickly became a fan favorite, resulting in plenty of merchandise based on characters and enemies from the game. One such example is the "Nendoroid Bloodborne Hunter", which takes the protagonist of the game and turns it into an adorable collectible figure.

Nendoroid Bloodborne Hunter

This figure from Good Smile Company's Nendoroid line features the male version of the playable character from Bloodborne sporting the game's iconic gothic, Victorian-style attire. The character's outfit includes a combination of black and dark blue clothing and armor. This attire also includes plenty of smaller details like a variety of belts and buckles as well. Viewers will also see that this Nendoroid also comes with several accessories based on items from Bloodborne as well. Such examples include the Saw Cleaver, Hunter Pistol, and a Lamp. Like most other Nendoroid figures, this recreation of Hunter is also fully articulated, allowing its owner to move and adjust it to recreate many of their favorite scenes and moves from the game.

About Bloodborne

Bloodborne is a game that was released for the PlayStation 4 in 2015. It was developed by FromSoftware and has gameplay similar to the company's previous works like Dark Souls and Demon's Souls.

About Bloodborne: Story

The events of Bloodborne all take place in the ancient city of Yharnam, which is filled with gothic Victorian-style buildings and architecture. This city was once known for creating a revolutionary medical cure but has since fallen to ruin after a plague had ravaged its citizens and left the city filled with lycanthropes. Much of the story of Bloodborne surrounds the mystery behind a substance referred to as "Old Blood", which was said to be the miracle cure-all found by the scholars of Yharnam before it was left in ruin.

About Bloodborne: Characters

Throughout the Hunter's adventure, players will come across many different characters, both friendly and hostile. One example of the former includes The Doll, a seemingly life-sized mannequin that gains the ability to move and communicate with the player. Their role in the game grows as the player progresses through the story. The Doll also acts as a way for the player to level up their Hunter. Bloodborne is also home to several incredibly powerful and uncanny boss characters called the Great Ones. These creatures are strange and unusual beings that transcend the understanding of humankind and are deeply inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft. Mergo's Wet Nurse, the Brain of Mensis, Kos, Oedon, Orphan of Kos, Amygdala, and Moon Presence are all examples of Great Ones.

About Bloodborne Development

Bloodborne was developed by FromSoftware and was released exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on March 24, 2015. The game would go on to receive a DLC expansion later the same year.

About Bloodborne Development: Production

Production of Bloodborne is said to have begun production in August 2012, right as FromSoftware was finishing up Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition. The company was approached by Sony Computer Entertainment, who desired to develop a new title as a collaborative effort. During production, developers took inspiration from works like Bram Stoker's Dracula and H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos, which resulted in Bloodborne's iconic gothic aesthetic. FromSoftware also desired to keep the level of difficulty similar to their past games but opted to create a more aggressive combat system. The first public trailer for Bloodborne was revealed at Sony's E3 conference in 2014. Although the game was originally planned to release on February 6, 2015, the North American release of Bloodborne was delayed to March 24. Following the success of the game, A DLC expansion of Bloodborne titled "The Old Hunters" was developed and released on November 24, 2015.

About Bloodborne Development: Reception

Even since the first trailer was unveiled in 2014, fans of FromSoftware highly anticipated the release of Bloodborne. In fact, Bloodborne was listed as GameInformer's most anticipated game of 2015, despite being released fairly early into the year. Bloodborne would go on to become a commercial and critical success. The game ended up in the first and second most popular games in several parts of the world, including Japan, North America, and the UK. By September 2015, over two million copies of Bloodborne were purchased, despite being a PlayStation 4 exclusive. Many game review sites also named Bloodborne as 2015 Game of the Year.
