Attack on Titan is a franchise that took the world by storm shortly after it debuted in Kodansha’s monthly Bessatsu Shonen Magazine in late 2009. An anime adaptation produced by Wit Studio and Production I.G. was later produced in Spring 2013. This adaptation led to the popularity of the series exploding worldwide, leading to merchandise manufacturers creating a variety of different kinds of collectible items. One such type of merchandise includes figures of characters that appear in Attack on Titan, with one of the most popular characters being Annie Leonhart, the Female Titan. Pop! Animation: Attack on Titan - Annie Leonhart Figure

This figure from Funko’s popular and expansive collection of Pop! figures features Annie standing in a casual pose with a hand on her hip while the other hangs by her side. She wears the standard Survey Corps uniform and has a set of vertical maneuvering gear and ultrahard steel blades, showing that she is ready to go into battle at a moment’s notice. Like most Pop! figures, this recreation of Annie also takes a chibi-style approach. In other words, this figure has a simplified design, a large pair of eyes and head, and a shrunken body to make it appear cuter.

Attack of Titan Chibi Kyun Chara Figures

This set of four figures is produced by Banpresto and includes figures for Eren Yeager, Reiner Braun, Jean Kirstein, and Annie Leonhart. Although these figures can be purchased as a complete set, characters can be purchased individually as well. Eren and Reiner are both posed tumbling backward like they are still training using the vertical maneuvering gear. Meanwhile, Jean is slumped on the ground. Annie, however, is standing straight up with her hands raised to her shoulders in her signature battle stance.

Female Titan 90cm-Class Figure

Unlike the previous items, this figure features Annie after she has transformed into the Female Titan. The figure itself also stands at an impressive 90 centimeters tall (around 35.5 inches), making it considerably larger than most other figures on the market. Since this figure is so large, particular attention was given to its musculature. Individual muscle fibers are sculpted into the arms, legs, and torso of the massive Titan, giving it a more realistic look. This recreation of the Female Titan is also posed in Annie’s battle stance as well, with her weight shifted to one foot and her hands raised up to her head.

About Annie Leonhart

Annie Leonhart is a member of Marley’s Warrior unit sent to infiltrate the walls of Paradis Island to regain the lost power of the Founding Titan. The following is a brief overview of her character.

Background

From an early age, Annie was raised by her adoptive father, who hoped to train her so that she would become one of Marley’s Warriors and live a better life than he could provide. Although the training did pay off and resulted in Annie being chosen to inherit the powers of the Female Titan, the grueling physical training left her with a socially distant and standoffish personality toward others. She is sent with the rest of Marley’s Warriors to infiltrate the walls of Paradis Island and steal the power of the Founding Titan, which is currently in Eren’s possession.

Special Abilities

Due to the intense training from her father, Annie is incredibly skilled in combat and was even ranked fourth in her class when the 104th Training Corps graduated. This combat skill manifests largely in the unusual style of martial arts she learned from her adoptive father, which allows users to take on larger and stronger targets than most other styles. Aside from her incredible combat skill, Annie also has the powers of the Female Titan. After Annie transforms, she stands at a massive 14 meters tall and has several unique abilities even among the other Nine Titans. Such powers include the ability to crystalize and speed up regeneration to specific parts of her body. Her ability to crystalize parts of her body makes it incredibly difficult to defeat her, as ultrahard steel cannot penetrate her hardened flesh. The only person able to get around this ability is Captain Levi Ackerman, as he can move faster than Annie can use this ability.

Other Important Attack on Titan Characters

Although Annie can be seen interacting with other graduates of the 104th Training Corps like Eren Yeager and Mikasa Ackerman, she interacts most often with the other members of Marley’s Warriors, most notably Reiner Braun and Bertolt Hoover.

Reiner Braun

Reiner acts as the leader of Marley’s Warriors and holds the ability to transform into the Armored Titan. Before infiltrating the Walls, Reiner and Annie disagreed about whether or not they should continue with their mission, resulting in the two battling each other for the right to decide. Reiner ended up being the victor and chose to continue the infiltration. Once the group had joined the 104th Training Corps, Reiner began struggling with living the life of a spy, eventually causing him to reveal their plans to the protagonists.

Bertolt Hoover

Bertolt is the third member of the Warriors sent to infiltrate the Walls and holds the power to transform into the Colossal Titan. This power was essential, as it was what allowed the others to physically breach the nearly impregnable defenses of Paradis Island. Despite holding the ability to turn into the largest Titan, Bertolt has the most kindhearted personality of the Warriors. It is also suggested that Bertolt has romantic feelings toward Annie, though these feelings never come to light.
