About Luna Lovegood: Background
Born to Xenophilius and Pandora Lovegood, Luna is an intelligent and wise person who is often quirky and does not care about how people perceive her. Her mother passed away when she was nine, and her father raised her.
She has a dreamy demeanor, leading to her nickname “Loony Lovegood”. Yet, despite all the ridicule, she stays non-judgemental and takes excellent care of those she considers her friends. Her empathetic nature is especially seen when she comforts Harry after the passing of his godfather and when she is imprisoned with Mr. Ollivander. She also painted portraits of her close friends, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, and Neville.
Luna also notably stays calm no matter the situation. The only instance when her demeanor changes are when one insults her father or his magazine. She remains calm, collected, and brutally honest in every other instance. When she was imprisoned at the Malfoy Manor, not once did she lose her cool and even turned to comfort the others.

Neville Longbottom
Neville and Luna seem to be particularly close out of all of her friends. The two bond over their ability to see Thestrals, as they had all witnessed someone die. During their sixth year at Hogwarts, Ginny, Neville, and Luna reformed and led a new Dumbledore’s Army. The new Dumbledore’s army was created to oppose how the Carrows ran Hogwarts.
Xenophilius Lovegood
Xenophilius is Luna’s father. He raised Luna as a single father due to her mother passing away in an accident. As a result, the two are very close and have a strong bond. Luna heavily believes in anything her father writes in the Quibbler magazine, and the two often take holidays to discover unique creatures. However, when Luna is kidnapped, Xenophilius becomes beside himself and becomes very erratic to have his daughter return to him.
