Yukino is a part of Class 2J and is the founding president of the Service Club. She was the only member till Hachiman decided to join her.
About Yukino Yukinoshita: Background
Yukino is an extremely talented girl. While she seems cold and unkind, she does show compassion for those close to her, but in her way. Her cold nature is a result of her tendency to be blunt. Her blunt and unfriendly appearance earns her the nickname "Ice Queen". Her distant attitude results from the bullying she received in elementary school. She would find her shoes stolen and was frequently harassed by the girls in her class. This was all steamed from jealousy due to her beautiful appearance and popularity with the boys.
While she seems like an "Ice Queen", she attempts to understand other people and shows compassion her way. She also has her cute moments. For example, she becomes excited when going to Destiny Land and is fond of anything cat-related. She becomes putty in front of a cat and even meows at Hachiman’s cat Kamakura. Another cute side is when it’s revealed she is a big fan of Pan-san—adoring the character so much that she even has an obsession. She loves the character so much that she becomes the "Ice Queen" when Yumiko states that Pan-san is not cute.
As the season progresses, her "Ice Queen" facade slowly fades, and she is able to show her vulnerable side to those around her. This allows her to become closer with Yui and become best friends.

Yukino is overall highly talented. She is intellectually and athletically gifted but has no stamina. She gets exhausted after walking for a long time. Intellectually she is brilliant and is shown as she was able to attend Sobu High School, which has high academic requirements. She also places first in all of her subjects in her year group.
Her athletic capability is shown when she was able to win a judo competition as a substitute for Hayato Hayama. She is also able to sing and play guitar. While she usually does not like standing in front of crowds when she has a guitar and is singing, she can.

Yui Yuigahama
Yukino and Yui Yuigahama are best friends. However, when the two first meet, Yukino outright criticizes. Despite this, Yui calls her amazing, as she admires people who can stand their own. While Yui was hurt by Yukino’s words initially, she was jealous of how she could speak her mind without care. Despite Yukino’s cold attitude, Yui does consider her a close friend, and Yukino returns the feeling. Worried she might lose her friend at Yui’s birthday party, she gifts an apron to Yui. The two have an adorable friendship and will often lunch together in the club room, sleepover at each other’s homes, and regularly text each other.
Hachiman Hikigaya
Hachiman and Yukino are very close friends. Hachiman nicknames Yukino "Ice-Cold Beauty". Each hostile attitude initially puts them off, but she is surprised by Hachiman’s vast knowledge of books and quotes, which she also knew of. As they were both loners, Hachiman tries to bridge the gap between them but is initially turned down. However, Hachiman is often amused and enjoys seeing the different sides of Yukino. Despite her cold appearance, she has a cute side, is a big fan of Destiny Land, and is scared of dogs. Their friendship continues to progress, and Yukino even smiles at Hachiman.
