JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is a very popular series that was originally a manga written and illustrated by Hirohiko Araki. The anime was first released on the 6th of October 2012 showing Parts 1 and 2, Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency. Dio Brando is a famous character who appeared in Part 1 and was the main antagonist. He is a villain that is mentioned many times throughout the series and he is a very important character. Dio is also quite a popular character due to his overwhelming strength and confident personality. The series is a very large franchise with many JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Nendoroids and figures produced. Some popular products include the “Nendoroid JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Dio Brando”, and the “Nendoroid JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders DIO”.

Nendoroid JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Dio Brando

Enjoy the small and cute form of the evil and powerful Dio Brando from Part 1: Phantom Blood. His form is of Dio when he is older and after he has become a vampire. His blood-red eyes show he has fully turned into a vampire. Dio has been faithfully recreated with the 3 dots on his ears showing the dark and evil destiny he has.

Dio comes with three different facial expressions. The first one is a standard face where he looks uninterested in anything. The second one shows a confident smirk and the last one shows Dio with his mouth wide open as though he was shouting. The Nendoroid also comes with various optional features. He can hold a red rose in his hand and he can wear the iconic stone mask. There is also a detachable head part to show the climax scene where just Dio's head flies towards Jonathan Joestar to take over his body.

Nendoroid JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders DIO

From the Nendoroid line is a small figure of the imposing Dio Brando. He is wearing the orange, black, and green ensemble during Part 3: Stardust Crusaders. The form-fitting outfit shows his muscles which have been clearly defined.

The Dio Nendoroid comes with three different faceplates. One is his standard expressions where he looks displeased. The second shows an evil grin and the last faceplate shows Dio looking down with his mouth open as though he was laughing. The Nendoroid also comes with various optional parts. He can be posed with small knives, a street sign, and a special effect piece based on his Stand.

About Dio Brando

Dio is the main antagonist from Parts 1 and 3, he is also mentioned many times throughout the series. His actions have influenced other antagonists and many events can be linked back to Dio.

About Dio Brando: Background

Dio was born in a poor family with a weak-willed mother and a drunkard father. Due to the bad habits of his father, his mother died making Dio hate his father. He never forgave his father and slowly poisoned him to death. Due to his poor upbringing, Dio was obsessed with becoming rich and gaining influence. When he learned of his father’s debt to a wealthy nobleman he seized his chance to try to take over the family.

When Dio first arrived at the Joestar mansion he immediately thought of Jonathan Joestar, the protagonist of Part 1, as his enemy. He acted meek and obedient in front of Jonathan’s father but was very hostile towards Jonathan. Dio plotted to make Jonathan look bad in front of his father so he could steal the inheritance from him.

Dio was said to have been born evil. It was not his environment that made him a bad character but he was naturally wicked. He killed his own father and tried to poison Jonathan’s father who only showed him kindness. Dio also killed Jonathan’s dog as he didn’t like dogs and wished to make Jonathan suffer.

About Dio Brando: Abilities

After Dio was turned into a vampire he gained strength much greater than normal humans. He was able to gain power by sucking the blood of people and would be able to heal his wounds quickly. However, due to his vampiric body, he was weak against the sunlight as well as strong spiritual powers such as the Hamon.

During Part 3 Dio gains a Stand called The World. His Stand is a humanoid shape with the ability to stop time. At first, he is only able to stop time for a short time but at the end of Part 3, he is able to stop time for a maximum of 9 seconds. His Stand is also a short-range power type able to release a strong barrage of attacks.

Other Important JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Characters

Dio is the main antagonist and many people fear and revere him. When he was fighting Jonathan he knew how powerful the Joestar family could be and was very cautious.

Joseph Joestar

Joseph Joestar is the grandson of Jonathan Joestar. He was raised by his grandmother who told him about Dio. In Part 3 when he learns of Dio’s revival and carries the duties of the Joestar family with him as he travels to defeat Dio.

Jotaro Kujo

Jotaro Kujo doesn’t carry the Joestar name but has the blood flowing through his veins. In order to settle the grudges between his family line and Dio, he leaves on a journey. Together with his grandfather and reliable allies he sets out to defeat Dio.
