About Harry Potter: Background

Born Harry James Potter, he is the only son of James and Lily Potter. From the moment of his birth, Harry had become a well-known figure in the wizarding world. A prophecy was made stating that he would have the "power to vanquish the dark lord". This leads to the Potter family going into hiding to protect themselves. Voldemort's attempt at murdering Harry when he was a year and three months old is unsuccessful due to the protection of his parents. While both of his parents are killed, he survives and becomes Voldemort's nemesis and becomes known as "The Boy Who Lived".

Due to the death of his parents, he is raised by his aunt Petunia Dursley, separate from the wizarding world, and is brought up neglected and abused due to Petunia's resentment towards him. However, despite his harsh upbringing, he is a courageous, loyal and selfless person, proven repeatedly throughout the series.

About Harry Potter: Abilities

Harry is shown to be an extremely talented wizard. He has demonstrated powerful capabilities from the start, despite not knowing of the wizarding world till eleven years old. He was able to conjure a Patronus at a very young age, and despite numerous encounters with Lord Voldemort, he has survived all encounters, a testament to his talent.

In particular, Harry showed an affinity for Defence Against the Dark Arts. He had mastered numerous spells, and his stunning spells were so strong that they would be knocked out if hit directly. Yet, despite the numerous dangerous situations he faced, he has always skillfully escaped from each situation.

Another notable ability Harry has is his talent for flying and Quidditch. This was inherited from his father. From the first year, his exceptional command of a broomstick made him a great Seeker and became the youngest Seeker in a century.

Harry is heavily supported by his friends and often relies on them. In particular, Hermione, Ron, and Harry are close, and the trio sets out on the adventures together.

Ron Weasley

Ron is Harry's best friend. The two bond in the train ride to Hogwarts, and their friendship blossoms when Harry turns Draco down at this offer to help make friends with the right sort of people. Along with his family, Ron takes Harry under their wing and teaches him about the customs and everyday items in the wizarding world. The two have a brother-like relationship, and no matter the disagreements they have, the two always return to each other.

Hermione Granger

Hermione Granger is one of Harry's best friends. While Harry often gets annoyed at Hermione's nagging and Hermione annoyed at Harry's lack of discipline, the two get along very well and have a solid friendship. The strength of their friendship is apparent when Hermione aids Harry's dangerous adventures, and Harry relies on Hermione to help them with her knowledge. Hermione's utmost faith in Harry leads to her choosing him over Ron, occasionally causing rifts in Harry and Ron's relationship.
