Neon Genesis Evangelion - Nendoroid

Neon Genesis Evangelion is a popular mecha anime series that was produced by Tatsunoko Production and Gainax and was directed by Hideaki Anno. The series originally aired on TV Tokyo from October 1995 to March 1996. The series is regarded as one of the most influential anime series of its time, as it has had a significant impact on the standard of anime as a medium.

Neon Genesis Evangelion follows the story of Shinji Ikari, a teenage boy who is recruited into a secret military organization by his estranged father Gendo, for the purpose of piloting a biomechanical ‘Evangelion’ to fight giant alien ‘Angels’. The story is set 15 years after the ‘Second Impact’, an event that killed a large portion of the global population.

The series has received various adaptations into other media, including multiple video games, a manga series, and a light novel series. There have also been multiple movies released as part of the Evangelion series, one of which being The End of Evangelion, which serves as a ‘true ending’ to the series. There is also a movie series that acts as a retelling of the series, called Rebuild of Evangelion, which consists of 4 movies; Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone, Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance, Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo, and Evangelion: 3.0+1.0.

#1197 Rei Ayanami

Rei Ayanami is one of the protagonists of Neon Genesis Evangelion and is the pilot of Evangelion Unit-00. Rei is seemingly a character without emotion, acting cold and distant towards others. This later begins to change, as she makes emotional connections with Shinji and other characters within the series. She is a mysterious character and no specific details were stated about how she was made. It is said she was made with the remains of Yui Ikari, who is Shinji’s mother. Rei was very distant because she did not believe she had any worth and was just an expandable tool. After forming connections, even if she is replaceable, she can’t stop herself from feeling emotions and gradually begins to show her true thoughts.

The Rei Ayanami Nendoroid shows her wearing her school uniform and her usual short bob of a hairstyle that frames her face. This figure includes three different face plates. The first one is her standard expression where she doesn't show her emotions and looks neutral. Next is a cute face plate that shows Rei with a shy and blushing expression. Rei doesn’t seem displayed even if she isn't smiling as shown by the blush staining her cheeks. The last face plate shows Rei with her rare smile. It isn’t big and obvious however the tips of her mouth are curved slightly up to show her happy expression. This figure also includes a schoolbag part, rag, and bucket parts which she can hold and be displayed together with. Finally are special bandage parts that can be placed over her eye but under her hair part. This can be paired with other bandage features where one wrist is wrapped and her other arm is put into a sling.

Asuka Shikinami Langley is one of the protagonists of Neon Genesis Evangelion and is the pilot of Evangelion Unit-02, as well as the test pilot for Evangelion Unit-03. Asuka is an aggressive individual who believes that she is a more skilled Evangelion pilot than any other. She had been trained to become an Evangelion pilot from a young age and takes pride in her job. Asuka is a very prickly personality with so much pride she doesn’t want to admit that she was ever wrong.
