About McCree: Background

Jesse McCree, real name Cole Cassidy, grew up in Texas. Due to this, he had learned to shoot from a young age. He would often take one job after the other until he arrived at Bellerae and worked in the Ace Valentine megafarm. This leads to McCree meeting Julian, and the two become friends. He also later meets Ashe inside the Bellare prison. This then later leads to Ashe recruiting McCree to have him help her steal money from her parents so she would have enough to live. McCree negotiated a 20% cut, and the two then started going on multiple heists to gain money. They then recruit Julian and Frankie to aid them in their thefts and pull off numerous successful heists. The group takes on the name Deadlock Rebels.

While the Deadlock Gang was able to pull off multiple heists, the gang was captured during an Overwatch sting operation. However, McCree impressed Gabriel Reyes with his resourcefulness and skilled combat ability and was recruited by Gabriel Reyes to join the Overwatch's Blackwatch covert ops division. McCree decides to join the Blackwatch to avoid time in a maximum-security prison. He also believes that he can amend his past sins by righting the world's injustices, which is why he worked for Blackwatch.

About McCree: Abilities

One of McCree's most notable skills is his excellent instincts and skill to stay calm no matter the circumstance. This allows him to combat the best of his ability no matter the situation. In addition, McCree is a talented gunman and a great duelist. He can kill anyone with his speed, Flashbang grenade, and Peacekeeper.

McCree is known for handling a Peacekeeper and his deadly accurate aim. The primary fire shoots a highly accurate bullet. However, the secondary fire fans the hammer, and McCree will unload the remaining shots of the Peacekeeper. He can also use Flashbang, which allows him to throw a small grenade. Anyone caught in this explosion is dealt damage and will be stunned for a short time. Combined with his Peacekeeper, it makes McCree one of the strongest players in the game.

Other notable abilities McCree has is the Combat Roll and Deadeye. When Combat Roll is activated, McCree will roll some distance in the direction he is moving. It gives him some mobility and is a quick way to reload his Peacekeeper or take cover. Deadeye is McCree's ultimate ability and allows McCree to enter a targeting mode where movement speed is lowered. Targets are shown with a red bullseye. The longer the target is in McCree's vision, the greater the damage dealt. However, this ability will end if McCree is hit with a stun.

Mercy

Mercy, also known as Angela Ziegler, joined Overwatch and became head of medical research. She uses nano-biology to help heal injuries and illnesses. She is the person who developed the Valkyrie suit to help use the technology on the battlefield. Mercy and McCree were both in Overwatch at the same time.

D.Va

Hana Song, also known as D.Va, was a reigning gamer and a world champion. She was drafted into the MEKA program to help control the MEKA drones. MEKA's required pilots and recruited gamers, as gamers often hold very high reflexes and instincts necessary to operate the MEKA system. McCree and D.Va were both a part of Overwatch around the same period.
