Shiranui Flare - VTuber

Shiranui Flare is a half-elven woman VTuber from Hololive’s 3rd Generation, which is also sometimes referred to as Hololive Fantasy. Although not quite as popular as other members in her generation like Uruha Rushia and Usada Pekora, Flare’s unwavering kindness, and humility has caused well over 500,000 fans to subscribe to her channel.

As a member of Hololive, Flare uploads a wide range of content on her YouTube channel like song covers, chatting streams, and collaborations with other VTubers, but she is known mostly for her playthroughs of various games.

Shiranui Flare History

Shiranui Flare would make her YouTube debut on August 7th, 2019. By the end of the year, Flare would reach over 50,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel. On New Year’s Day 2020, she revealed a new outfit to celebrate the holiday. Although many other members of Hololive also received a New Year’s themed outfit, Flare would be one of the few who would continue using it regularly after the holiday season had passed. This outfit would later get a small update on July 15th, 2020. By the end of 2020, Flare received a second alternate outfit and reached over 400,000 subscribers. As of early 2021, the growth of her channel has only continued to grow and is expected to reach 600,000 in the near future.

Shiranui Flare Physical Description

Shiranui Flare is a dark-skinned half-elf woman with blonde hair, red eyes, and pointed ears. Her main outfit consists of a dark blue and white dress that is accented with orange cords tied into knots and fasteners, a pair of brown gloves, and a single white thigh-high sock that Flare wears on her left leg. Her long, light blond hair is also tied up into a ponytail with a blue and white bow. Her original outfit also includes a small, panda-like mascot character named “Kintsuba”.

Aside from her main outfit, Flare also currently has two alternative outfits that she can wear. The first is her New Year’s outfit, which consists of a kimono that is the same shade of blue as her main outfit that is then decorated with a floral pattern and covered with a long, red skirt along her waist. Kintsuba is also colored red and has a piece of mochi and a mikan on top of its head. Flare’s second alternate outfit is a gray and black dress that is covered with a black jacket that comes with a black and gold hat that Flare wears on top of her head. Kintsuba also received a matching outfit that includes a cane, a mask, and a top hat.

Shiranui Flare Personality

Whenever Flare streams, she often displays an incredibly well-mannered and polite personality that is simultaneously very caring and mature. Many viewers see Flare as the “big sister” of the 3rd Generation due to her willingness to help others and check in on them when they are in need. This is especially true when it comes to Shirogane Noel, who is especially close with Flare. While many know her for her cool, level-headed personality, Flare can also be quite silly and girly at times, particularly in her horror streams or after drinking alcohol. All in all, many members of Hololive greatly respect Flare for her dependability and see her as being incredibly reliable.

Associated Company

Shiranui Flare is a member of Hololive Production, a VTuber agency that is owned by Cover Corporation. Although its parent company used to only work with developing AR and VR software, its CEO, Motoaki “Yagoo” Tanigo, became inspired by the success of virtual characters like Kizuna Ai and sought out to create “virtual idols” using the company’s experience with virtual technology. What followed was the creation of Hololive’s first VTuber: Tokino Sora, who would go on to create a path for even more members to join. Currently, Hololive manages over 50 individual VTubers from around the world.

Notable Series

While Flare has played many games like Undertale and ARK: Survival Evolved on her channel in the past, she has become widely known for her Minecraft streams and her collaborations with the “Bakatare” group.

Minecraft

Although many VTubers can be seen playing Minecraft on their respective channels, this game is one of Flare’s most popular and consistent series. While she simply streams herself creating various contraptions, buildings, and landmarks on the Hololive Minecraft server, Flare also holds collaborative streams with other VTubers and offers her knowledge and assistance to those that want to build something of their own or complete a specific task. Some examples of members that Flare has helped include Houshou Marin (Marine), Usada Pekora, Himemori Luna, and more.

Bakatare Collaborations

The Bakatare group consists of three Hololive members: Shirakami Fubuki, Tsunomaki Watame, and Shiranui Flare. This group often hosts collaborative streams on each member’s respective channels and can range from playing games to simple chatting streams, and so on. Many of the collaborations on Flare’s channel have the group playing various horror games, despite several members being quite weak when it comes to the genre.
