Amane Kanata - VTuber

Amane Kanata is a Japanese VTuber that is a member of Hololive’s 4th Generation. Her kind-hearted, friendly demeanor and impressive vocal range led her to become very well respected among other members of Hololive and many fans in the Hololive community.

Amane Kanata, like many other VTubers that are managed by Hololive, hosts a wide variety of content on her YouTube channel. While this includes singing and chatting streams, most of the time, Kanata can be seen streaming video games.

Amane Kanata History

Although Kanata’s original YouTube debut happened on December 27th, 2019, her channel had already reached 10,000 subscribers a day prior. Her channel was later officially monetized on February 9th, 2020. On July 5th, Kanata reached 300,000 subscribers in the same stream that she revealed her 3D model for the first time. On September 27th, Kanata participated in her first live concert, which was the first entry in the “Hololive Virtual LIVE series in VARK: Cinderella Switch”. A few months later in late December, Kanata appeared in both days of Hololive’s second large-scale concert, “Hololive 2nd fes. Beyond the Stage”. On the first day of 2021, she revealed her New Year’s outfit along with the other members of the 4th and 5th Generations. As of April 2021, Kanata’s channel has over 750,000 subscribers and is expected to reach 800,000 in the near future.

Amane Kanata Physical Description

Amane Kanata is a young, short angel girl with short, silver hair and blue and purple eyes. Her main outfit is a school uniform with a “Student Council” yellow armband pinned on it, noting that she is a member of the Angelic-Realm Institution’s student council. The uniform itself is mainly white and blue and accented with black and gold. A large blue bow decorates the chest of the uniform while a tall, black collar covers up part of Kanata’s chin. The uniform’s jacket also has notably large cuffs as well. Kanata also has a pair of angel wings on her shoulders and wears a star-shaped halo on the side of her head.

On New Year’s Day 2021, Kanata revealed a new outfit to celebrate the holiday. This outfit consists of a short, light blue kimono-style dress that is lined with a layer of ruffled black cloth along the bottom. The dress is also tied with a wide blue, pink, and black obi that is decorated with a large blue bow and a miniature version of Kanata’s halo. The white sleeves of this outfit are detached from the main outfit and alternate blue and pink accents. This New Year’s outfit also includes a pair of hamster ears that Kanata can add or remove.

Amane Kanata Personality

Amane Kanata is generally known for her incredible positive energy, kind-hearted nature, and sweet voice. Sometimes, Kanata’s kindness can almost become a fault, as it can make her seem gullible and naive. No matter what happens to Kanata and those around her, she is always able to keep everyone’s spirits high. Aside from her kind nature, Kanata also has a reputation for being a goofball, particularly after she made all of her debut materials in Microsoft PowerPoint. This eventually led to Kanata gaining the nickname “PPT” (PowerPoint Tenshi, where tenshi is the Japanese word for angel). Many members have also mentioned that Kanata has an incredibly strong grip strength and is often jokingly compared to a gorilla, similar to how Oozora Subaru is compared to a duck. Interestingly enough, despite her “pure” and sometimes timid nature, she is best friends with the loud and boisterous Kiryu Coco and currently lives with her and Hoshimachi Suisei.

Hololive Production is a Japan-based VTuber agency that manages over 50 individual VTubers and is owned by Cover Corporation. While most of the members of Hololive speak primarily in Japanese, the agency regularly adds members to its English and Indonesian branches. While members often stream on their own time, Hololive often organizes large-scale events and collaborations that members participate in.

Although one can find a variety of content on Kanata’s channel that ranges from short meme videos to game and karaoke streams, some of her most popular streams in recent times include her playthroughs of Undertale and Umamusume: Pretty Derby.

Undertale

Although Undertale is a game that originally exploded in popularity after its release in 2015, many members in Hololive began playing through the game around the beginning of 2021. Kanata herself began her playthrough of Undertale on February 17, 2021. While many other members had difficulty beating the final boss of the “Genocide” route of the game, Kanata’s struggles were particularly noteworthy. Over the course of four streams that took place between February 25th and February 28th, Kanata kept attempting to defeat this boss until she won, resulting in over thirty hours of gameplay and nearly 350 deaths.

Umamusume: Pretty Derby

Umamusume: Pretty Derby is a mobile gacha game that has recently gained a lot of popularity among members of Hololive like Omaru Polka, Uruha Rushia, and Sakura Miko. While gacha streams where members are generally more popular among viewers, Kanata also often streams herself training up some of her favorite characters and playing various other parts of the game that other members might prefer to do off-stream.
