Super Saiyan Blue Goku Dragon Ball Super - Figures

Beginning with the movies Battle of Gods and Resurrection of Frieza, Dragon Ball Z made a comeback in a big way. A number of new character and story updates came including the newest Sayian transformation, Super Saiyan Blue. After achieving the Super Saiyan God form during the events of the movie Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, Goku then went on to train with Whis and attained the next step up, Super Saiyan Blue. Thought to be accessible only with divine training, this form is obviously not to be underestimated. Goku went on eventually to master the Super Saiyan Blue form and increase its power through training and getting used to using the form, much like he did for the Super Saiyan form during the Cell saga. The darker earthen colors add weight when coupled with intricate shading. Torn clothes and well-defined musculature bring realism to the anime-styled figure. Dragon Ball Super Goku Fes!! Special Ver. Figure

Goku using the Super Saiyan Blue form in the training costume given to him by Whis. This scene is likely from the Resurrection F movie. Frieza is resurrected and comes back for revenge with his new golden form, obtained through four months of training with his underling Tagoma. In this form, Goku’s power is tremendous, but not enough to overpower the terrifying Frieza, until Frieza’s power starts to drain due to the stress of the new golden form. The main differences in this costume are the lack of a blue undergarment and the type of footwear Goku uses are different. That along with the unique mark from Whis that replaces the ‘Kame’ or ‘Son’ Chinese characters that usually adorn Goku’s gi.

Dragon Ball Super Super Saiyan Blue Goku Big Size Figure

Standing at a huge 240mm, Banpresto’s Big Size Figures are truly that. Standing well above many other figures and models and without sacrificing any of the detail. If anything, this figure is allowed even more detail due to the increased surface area on which to work. Wearing his typical gi Goku’s stance is a classic. This is the same stance he used when fighting Vegeta for the first time on Earth and the stance that Broly copied by means of his Saiyan genetics in the Broly movie.

About Super Saiyan Blue Goku

This is a variation of the Super Saiyan God form first revealed in the movie Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods. Starting with the fiery red Super Saiyan God form, the user then extends their focus, seals all ki inside their body, and with a calm mind and spirit pushes himself into the Super Saiyan Blue stage.

Background

First seen during the intense battle against Golden Frieza in the movie Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of Frieza. Then seen again throughout the Dragon Ball Super series and also in the movie Dragon Ball Super: Broly. Vegeta achieved the form through training directly with Whis, the angel that lives with Beerus.

Special Abilities

The concentration of god ki inside the body and muscles gives the Super Saiyan Blue user a huge increase in strength and power. Goku has also been known to combine Super Saiyan Blue with Kaioken for a double effect, despite the massive damage his body sustains from the use of both techniques at once. He did this when fighting Hit in the tournament against Universe 6.

Other Important Dragon Ball Super Characters

Three other characters have been able to use the Super Saiyan Blue transformation. Two of them are fusions (metamoran and potara) and the other is long-time rival Vegeta.

Vegeta

Vegeta somehow achieved Super Saiyan God off-screen through means that are never fully divulged. However, it is safe to assume that Whis had a hand in the turn of events considering Vegeta’s training on Beerus’ planet. In the anime filler episode, ‘Vegeta Becomes a Student?! Win Over Whis!’, Vegeta convinces Whis to take him to Beerus’ planet for training by promising to serve him Earth's most delicious food.

Gogeta / Vegito

Gogeta and Vegito are both fusions featuring Goku and Vegeta. Both fusions have achieved the Super Saiyan Blue form. Vegeto is first seen in Blue form during the Future Trunks Arc of Dragon Ball Super when fighting against an immortal Zamasu and Goku Black in Super Saiyan Rose form. Gogeta used the form in the movie Dragon Ball Super: Broly to win against the unstoppable Legendary Super Saiyan Broly.
