About Koichi Hirose

Background

Koichi goes through a lot of character development as Diamond is Unbreakable progresses. At first, he is a meek young boy who follows the lead of others, especially Josuke. There are traits of Koichi that stay constant throughout the story though, including his overall friendliness towards everyone. He never desires to harm anyone, and only ever uses his Stand in order to defend himself and his friends. Koichi may appear cowardly, but when someone he cares about is threatened, he is a courageous force to be reckoned with.

Special Abilities

Koichi is the wielder of the stand, Echoes. As Koichi’s character evolves throughout the story, his Stand evolves along with him. Echoes Act 1 allows Koichi to use “Sound Generation”, causing words or onomatopoeia to repeat and various volumes, creating certain effects. Echoes Act 2 allows the words to take residence on any surface, so anything that touches that surface activates the special effect related to the word. Echoes Act 3 has the “3 Freeze” ability, which allows Koichi to freeze targets by causing a “weight” to be placed on top of them.

Josuke Higashikata is the main protagonist, or “JoJo” of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 4: Diamond is Unbreakable. He is a high school student in the quiet town of Morioh, leading a mostly quiet life alongside his mother and grandfather. Josuke is a kind young man, who is friendly and loyal to those that he cares about. Throughout the story Josuke is quick to make friends, often forging unlikely alliances. After the death of his grandfather, Josuke makes it his life’s work to protect Morioh from evil stand users. He is the user of the Stand Crazy Diamond, which has the ability to repair almost anything, except for Josuke himself.
