Keiji Akaashi Haikyuu!! - Figures

Haikyuu!! is a popular volleyball manga series that was published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from February 2021 to July 2020. Haruichi Furudate was responsible for both the writing and illustrations for all 402 chapters of the manga, which would later go on to be compiled into forty-five volumes. The series would later get an anime adaptation in April 2014 that was produced by Production I.G. and directed by Susumu Mitsunaka and Masako Sato. The series is widely known for its intense matches and incredible character growth. As the series grew in popularity, desire for merchandise grew as well, with collectible figures being one of the most desired types. This holds true for secondary characters as well, with one such character being the vice-captain of Fukurodani’s volleyball team, Keiji Akaashi. Nendoroid Haikyu!! Keiji Akaashi Figure

This collection of figures from Banpresto’s DXF line includes two characters from Fukurodani’s volleyball team: Kotaru Bokuto and Keiji Akaashi. Although both figures can be purchased as a set, each figure is also available individually. The figure of Keiji Akaashi has him wearing his school’s uniform. About Keiji Akaashi

Keiji Akaashi is the vice-captain and primary setter for Fukurodani’s volleyball team. Here are some additional details about his character.

Background

Before joining Fukurodani’s volleyball team, Keiji was a member of a Mori Junior High School’s team and acted as the team’s setter. Although this team had a fair amount of skill, they lacked the passion to push themselves to truly hone their technique. After receiving a recommendation from Fukurodani Academy, Keiji witnessed their ace, Kotaro Bokuto, play in a match. Kotaro’s passion for volleyball deeply influenced Keiji, who decided to attend Fukurodani and join their volleyball team.

Special Abilities

As a volleyball player, Keiji is a very balanced player that is very skilled in most physical aspects of the game and can cleanly set up for a spike, even if the initial reception is less than ideal. That said, he excels when it comes to strategy, analysis, and other mental aspects of the game. This is especially true when it comes to handling the team’s ace, Bokuto, who often ends up in depressed moods in the middle of a match.

Other Important Haikyuu!! Characters

Out of the various other members on Fukurodani’s team, Keiji is closest to its captain and ace, Kotaro Bokuto. Outside of his team, Keiji also acts somewhat like a mentor to both Kei Tsukishima and Shoyo Hinata.

Kotaro Bokuto

Kotaro Bokuto is the captain and ace of Fukurodani’s volleyball team. He is known most for his nearly unending positivity and for being one of the top five aces in Japan. Although he has proven his talent time and time again, there are some moments where Kotaro finds himself in a slump, which greatly affects his performance during a match. As such, Keiji often has to find a way to pull him out of his moods and bring him back to his senses.

Kei Tsukishima and Shoyo Hinata

During one of the summer training camps, both Kei and Shoyo end up getting extra lessons from Kotaro, Keiji, and Tetsuro. This extra practice turned out to be essential, as the two learned additional skills that proved to be very effective in their match against Shiratorizawa.
