About Akagi

Akagi is a collectible character within the Azur Lane video game as well as one of the main antagonists of the Azur Lane animation. Here is a brief overview of the character.

Background

Akagi is based on the Akagi Japanese aircraft. She has long black hair and crimson eyes, as well as pointy fox ears and nine tails. Akagi has been featured in a few different sets of clothes, but her default outfit is a white top with a white belt at her torso over a red mini shirt and knee-high tights. She wears a long red overcoat over this, with red and black detailing and gold trimmings. Akagi does not speak much about her past, preferring to focus on her current task at hand. She is a devoted member of the Sakura Empire, often holding positions of authority. She focuses only on destroying her enemies, doing whatever she can to make sure that she comes out on top.

Special Abilities

Akagi has a set of skills that help give her an advantage over her opponents. Preemptive Strike allows her to decrease the loading time of her ship’s first Airstrike, giving her the ability to attack faster. And, when she is sortied with Kaga, a fellow Sakura Empire aircraft carrier, the ship’s aviation is increased.

Other Important Azur Lane Characters

There are many other obtainable characters that fans can enjoy in Azur Lane. Those interested in history, particularly in World War II, can experience pieces of the past with all of the creative characters that are offered. Here are three other characters in Azure Lane that are very popular.

Yamashiro

Yamashiro is an antagonist in Azur Lane, being part of the Sakura Empire like Akagi. Yamashiro’s character is based upon the real-life Imperial Japanese Navy Yamashiro Battleship. This battleship was known for being notoriously difficult to control, and Yamashiro’s character most certainly represents this well! She is seemingly unlucky, her clumsiness representing the difficulties that the Yamashiro Battleship encountered. She is a playable character that is often seen paired with her sister, Fusou.

Belfast

Belfast is one of the main protagonists in Azur Lane. She is based upon the real ship, the HMS Belfast, which is one of the most significant ships to have survived World War II. It is now featured as a museum ship on the River Thames in London. The character Belfast is the head maid of the Royal Navy, readily taking orders from Queen Elizabeth. She is devoted to her duties, being both proper and polite.

Eldridge

Eldridge is a character that is featured within Azur Lane. She is based upon the real-life counterpart USS Eldridge, which is a United States Navy destroyer escort. The namesake of the ship is derived from Lieutenant Commander John Eldridge Jr. The character Eldridge in Azur Lane is mostly expressionless, but that doesn’t mean that she is emotionless! She isn’t very talkative, keeping her sentences short and to the point. Eldridge sometimes even uses her hair to express herself, often shown using it as a means to convey excitement. In Azur Lane, she is part of the Eagle Union faction.
