OtapediaFrame Arms Girl - Figures

Frame Arms Girl, shortened as F.A. Girl, takes mecha and combines it with moe girls to create an adorable twist on the genre. The model kit line contains base characters that can equip accessories from the original Frame Arms and M.S.G. weapon lines. However, due to the anime's popularity, Kotobukiya created figures representing the beloved characters across product lines. Here are three Frame Arms Girl figures that show off the best the series has to offer "Frame Arms Girl Ao Gennai 1/7 Scale Figure," "Cu-poche Frame Arms Girl Gourai," and "Frame Arms Girl Baselard -Session Go!!-."

Frame Arms Girl Ao Gennai 1/7 Scale Figure

This scale figure shows the series hero, Ao, in a carefree pose. She wears her school uniform, skipping with her left leg kicked back. Her hair bounces with the implied movement, falling in messy tendrils around her face. The bag on her shoulder slides down her arm and her keychain flies up in response. The figure comes with two right handpieces. The first delicately holds Ao's cellphone. The other balances a scale version of Ao's F.A. Girl, Gourai, perfectly still despite the skipping. The tiny Gourai wears only her base outfit, stripped of any battle armor.

Cu-poche Frame Arms Girl Gourai Figure

The powerful fighter, Gourai, looks unbelievably cute in this chibi figure from Kotobukiya's Cu-poche line. She wears a full version of her standard, medium brown armor, and removable black protection goggles. Her speed-boosting tank treads fold up and down behind her for more poses. The figure includes two expression plates: one neutral and one set in a battle cry. Her magnetic feet firmly attach to the gunmetal base, holding her in a pose and matching her tank aesthetic. Despite the size, the figure retains all of Gourai's design details, from the numbers scrolled on her armor to the stripes on her undies.

Frame Arms Girl Baselard -Session Go!!- Figure

Mischievous, fun-loving Baselard breaks through her base to battle in this figure based on Noritaka Suzunori's illustration. In a dynamic pose, Baselard's unarmed body floats above her base. She draws in her right knee and kicks her left leg up in the air. Her armor floats around her, mid-way through their attachment sequence. Baselard strikes a cute pose with a wink and peace sign accenting her wide, open mouth smile. A pixelated wall of energy surrounds her, painted in an ombre to give it a glowing effect. Her signature color, orange, pops against her outfit's gray and white base.

The Frame Arms Girl Series Story

The Frame Arms Girl anime follows a teenage girl tasked with testing a new line of model kits. Its first season consists of twelve, two-part episodes blending slice-of-life and fighting genres.

Series Overview

High school student Ao Gennai receives a new job providing data to the fictional company, Factory Arms. Her first test involves a model kit within the Frame Arms Girl line. The model kit, named Gourai, reveals to Ao that she is part of a trial to study emotional intelligence for future figures. Over time, more F.A. Girls arrive, challenging Gourai to battles and forming a found family with her and Ao.

Series Characters

Gourai serves as the main Frame Arms Girl in the series. Gourai is a ground-based fighting F.A. Girl who uses tank-style treads to move around. Her skill and success in battle attract more opponents as the series progresses. Her first challengers, Stylet and Baselard, both use aerial attacks and end up accompanying Ao and Gourai on their future adventures. Gourai's greatest opponent, Hresvelgr, inspires her to grow stronger, deepening her bond with Ao.

The Frame Arms Girl Series Development

Both the Frame Arms Girl anime and manga take inspiration from the Kotobukiya model kit line. As an accompanying series, the story showcases the figure lineup as well as the customization parts in the line.

Series Production

Frame Arms Girl started as a spin-off of Kotobukiya's Frame Arms mecha line in 2015. The original line takes its name from the shared core, or "frame," of each figure that can be equipped with different external parts, or "arms." F.A. Girl reimagines the existing robots of the Frame Arms line as anthropomorphized girls. Following the launch, Kadokawa published a manga adaptation from December 2016 until November 2017. An anime series based on the manga aired during the 2017 spring anime season.

Series Reception

The Frame Arms Girl line proved popular with model kit fans. Since its release, the number of new figures has nearly doubled each year. The line features crossovers with over media, such as Hatsune Miku and Wonder Woman. In addition to the model kits, the F.A. Girl characters show up in other Kotobukiya figure lines.
