Ink Bendy Bendy and the Ink Machine - Figures
Bendy and the Ink Machine is a video game that was released in five separate chapter installments from February 2017 to October 2018. The gameplay is largely focused on survivor and horror elements, which have the player defeat unusual monsters as they attempt to escape from a fictional animation studio. After the release of the fifth chapter, console ports for the entire game were published by Rooster Teeth Games. Many players of the game praised Bendy and the Ink Machine for its interesting story and early 1900’s cartoon-inspired visuals, eventually leading to a sizable amount of merchandise being created by various manufacturers. One such type of merchandise is collectible figures of the various characters that appear throughout the game. Ink Bendy, the main antagonist of Bendy and the Ink Machine, is a particularly popular character among fans. Out of the several recreations of the character, one of the most popular is the “Pop! Games: Bendy and the Ink Machine Series 2 - Ink Bendy”.
Pop! Games: Bendy and the Ink Machine Series 2 - Ink Bendy Figure
This entry from Funko’s instantly recognizable Pop! series of figures takes the unsettling form of Bendy and the Ink Machine’s antagonist and adds Funko Pop!’s unique flair. As an attempt to recreate the original Bendy cartoon character in real life, this figure of Ink Bendy shares several aspects of Bendy’s design, although it is gravely deformed in various ways. Although the character sports Bendy’s smile and bowtie, the rest of the figure appears to be completely covered in black ink, which is textured in such a way that makes it seem to want to ooze down Ink Bendy’s body.
Although Ink Bendy’s original design is much more humanoid in appearance, this figure shrinks down his proportions down to fit the super-deformed style that Pop! figures are known for. Despite the more simplified design, however, there are still plenty of other details that are unique to this figure of Ink Bendy. One of the most notable things is the uneven limbs that Ink Bendy has. In Ink Bendy’s original design, his left hand has a large white glove on it, making it significantly longer than his right hand. This is also reflected in the Pop! figure, as one arm is noticeably larger than the other.

About Ink Bendy
Ink Bendy is a failed clone of the in-universe cartoon character, Bendy the Devil, and acts as the main antagonist in Bendy and the Ink Machine.
Background
Before the events of Bendy and the Ink Machine, Joey Drew, the founder of Joey Drew Studios, purchased an unusual device called the Ink Machine, which was originally supposed to create 3-D models out of 2-D sketches. At some point, however, the Ink Machine gained the ability to give these created models life, as long as a human soul was imbued into the model. Joey decided to create a model of Bendy, the mascot character of his popular cartoon but did not provide a soul to create a proper clone, resulting in the creation of Ink Bendy. This incomplete clone was incredibly deformed and had no emotions. Although he was not initially hostile, he soon showed his destructive nature after being isolated within the studio.
Personality and Special Abilities
Despite having no recognizable emotions or soul, Ink Bendy seems to have a distinct sense of identity and will become notably upset when he comes across images of the original Bendy that have been damaged. He also seems to have a strong distaste toward imperfect cartoon clones, despite Ink Bendy being an imperfect clone himself. This is seen particularly when Ink Bendy annihilates the strange, misshapen clones of the Butcher Gang characters that the player will find in the game.
Aside from his cold, predator-like behavior, Ink Bendy is an unbelievably powerful entity within the Bendy and the Ink Machine universe. While his ability to teleport and produce vast quantities of ink already makes him quite formidable, Ink Bendy is also immortal, meaning that the player can do nothing but run away from the creature. Furthermore, Ink Bendy is capable of turning into an even deadlier form named Beast Bendy. In this form, Ink Bendy’s upper body grows much larger and his smudged, painted smile is exchanged for a massive jaw lined with jagged teeth. Beast Bendy is also significantly more feral and aggressive in nature, making him even more difficult to flee.
Other Important Bendy and the Ink Machine Characters
As the main antagonist of Bendy and the Ink Machine, Ink Bendy is connected to many different characters that appear throughout the game, though two characters that share a particularly notable relationship with Ink Bendy are his creator, Joey Drew, and Boris the Wolf.
Joey Drew
Joey Drew is the founder of the fictional animation studio, Joey Drew Studios, and was once a close friend to the protagonist of the game, Henry Stein. At this animation studio, Joey worked as a writer and director for the in-universe Bendy cartoons until the studio was shut down in 1959. Before this foreclosure took place, however, Joey purchased the Ink Machine and eventually created Ink Bendy without knowing the consequences of such an act.
Boris the Wolf
Boris the Wolf was created to be a friend and foil character for Bendy in the original cartoons. After the various strange events that take place in the game, humans are transformed into characters from the Bendy cartoons. This seems especially true for Boris the Wolf, as he has several different incarnations that appear throughout the game. One incarnation that has a particularly notable connection with Ink Bendy is Buddy Boris, who was originally a man named Daniel Lewek. Daniel went by the nickname “Buddy” before he was killed by Ink Bendy and turned into a version of Boris.
