Free! is a Japanese anime television series based on the light novel, High Speed!, written by Koji Oji. The anime was produced by Kyoto Animation and Animation Do, and the first season, Free! - Iwatobi Swim Club aired in Japan in 2013. The second season, Free! - Eternal Summer aired in Japan the following year in 2014. The second season is set one year after the events of the first season, with the boys in their final year of high school. As they determine what to do with their lives after high school, they race in hopes of being in the nationals. It definitely looks like he might have lost the water gun battle though, judging from how soaked he is. The way this figure of Rin is painted makes it look like he just took a dip in the pool with his clothes on - a glossy sheen coating his shirt and his pants, as well as his hair, make him look wet to the touch! Rin’s clothes stick to his skin, the weight pulling his pants down a little to reveal his midriff. This figure is most certainly high quality, especially if any of the great online reviews have anything to say about it!

Background
The story of Free! begins with Rin’s return to Iwatobi, Japan. When wandering the halls of the old Iwatobi Swim Club building, he runs into Haruka Nanase, Makoto Tachibana, and Nagisa Hazuki, who are all surprised to see him. Haruka and Rin are rivals, constantly competing against one another to see who is the best swimmer. Haruka, Makoto, and Nagisa decide to reform the Iwatobi Swim Club, with Rin going on to join the Samezuka Academy swim team to fight against them. In Free! Eternal Summer, Rin is made captain of the swimming team after one of his teammates, Seijuro Mikoshiba, graduates from Samezuka Academy. Rin Matsuoka is a very passionate young man, showing a great deal of competitiveness as well as teamwork on the Samezuka Academy swim team. As the series progresses, his desire to compete and win against Haruka Nanase grows, overpowering any other desire.
Special Abilities
Rin Matsuoka specializes in the Butterfly swim style, with notable skill in the breaststroke and individual Medley. Rin exhibits high body fitness and stamina, able to push himself for an extended period of time. He also has very good water repellency, allowing him to move at great speeds. However, he is beaten at this skill only by Haruka, who, according to Rin himself, seems to get faster every time they compete against one another.

Sosuke Yamazaki
Sosuke Yamazaki is one of the main characters featured in Free! Eternal Summer. He is a close childhood friend of Rin, as well as a freestyle swimmer on the Samezuka Academy swim team. Sosuke is tall and muscular, with short, dark hair and teal eyes. He is very kind but stoic, often giving off an intimidating aura to those around him. He’s protective of both Rin and Rin’s sister, Gou Matsuoka, even threatening Haruka to stay out of the way of Rin’s dreams.
Makoto Tachibana
Makoto Tachibana is another main character featured in Free!. He serves as the captain of the Iwatobi High School Swim Club and is skilled at the backstroke swim style. Makoto is tall and muscular, with kind green eyes and shaggy brown hair. He is a very kind young man, and he is always making sure that everyone else is happy. He’s one of the more level-headed boys in the group, often working to keep his best friend Haruka in check.
