Tobio Kageyama Haikyuu!! - Figures

Unsurprisingly, as one of the main characters in the series, Tobio Kageyama remains one of the most beloved in Haikyu!! Along with Hinata, Kageyama continually tops popularity polls and as a result, winds up in every merchandise line for the series. While Hinata usually sees the first release in a new figure line, Kageyama almost always immediately follows. Across manufacturers, Kageyama has seen numerous rereleases, new designs, and special editions. The renewed King of the Court is ready to lead the new Karasuno to victory in this chibi figure from Orange Rouge. Kageyama wears the alternate orange Karasuno uniform as seen in the match against Inarizaki. The figure comes with three faceplates including a neutral smile, deep concentration, and a comically angry expression. The faceplates feature an art style similar to the new To The Top anime style. Additional parts include a volleyball, a pen and journal, and his towel crown. Hand and arm parts allow for intricate poses with the props as well as the various facial expressions. A special base with a volleyball court design, a net, and a high-speed effect piece to reenact classic scenes from the anime. Paired with the Hinata Nendoroid, Kageyama will be ready to score with a freak quick or throw down with his rival.

Haikyu!! Master Stars Piece Tobio Kageyama Figure

Kageyama gives off a menacing aura in this figure from Banpresto’s Master Stars line. He stands with a cold, fixed stare and a volleyball in his right hand. The simplicity of the pose allows for greater attention to detail in the sculpting and paintwork. The fabric around his waistband gathers in close, shallow folds. His tucked-in jersey billows out of the waistband in a natural, irregular manner. His volleyball shoes include both the smooth leather body of the shoe and the mesh inlay accents. Careful painting detail shows in the trim detail of the jersey collar and white accents, but also in the school kanji. The in-universe ICS logo also shows up both on the jersey and as a small detail on Kageyama’s socks.

Haikyu!! Creator x Creator Tobio Kageyama Figure

This figure from Banpresto shows Kageyama preparing for practice or a match with his signature intensity. Kageyama crosses his left arm in front of his chest, tucked behind his raised right arm in a shoulder stretch. He stares ahead in deep concentration, cool and calculating. In addition to his uniform, Kageyama wears his Karasuno club jacket with the sleeves pushed up. Sculpting work on the folds and pulls in the fabric emphasizes the movement and realistically moves around the form underneath it. Notable textural detail on the kneepads adds a tactile dimension to the figure. There are two color scheme options, one in full color and one with just the orange accents on the uniform painted on.

About Tobio Kageyama

Tobio Kageyama is the second protagonist of Haikyu!! and the rival and partner of Shoyo Hinata. Kageyama has been deemed a volleyball prodigy since elementary school with his talents taking off in middle school. While his talent and ball control are unmatched in most other players, Kageyama still demanded that his teammates meet his high expectations. His tyrannical behavior earned him the nickname “King of the Court” and lost him the support of his teammates. His bad reputation prevented him from being scouted by his dream school and he ended up at Karasuno as a result. Through working with Hinata, Kageyama learns to work with others and push his already impressive abilities to new heights. While Kageyama looks down on and berates Hinata for his lack of skills, he views Hinata’s untapped potential as the ultimate opponent.

Other Important Haikyu!! Characters

Shoyo Hinata is the primary protagonist of Haikyu!! and the catalyst character for the series. After seeing a short volleyball player dominate in a national game, Hinata dreams of becoming a star volleyball player himself. Despite his incredible athleticism, Hinata’s lack of training and technique leads to a loss in his first official game in middle school to Kageyama. Hinata vows to beat Kageyama on the world stage one day only to start their high school career as teammates. Hinata views Kageyama as the peak of volleyball, much to his displeasure.

Atsumu Miya is the top-ranked high school setter in Japan who first meets Kageyama at the Youth Nationals Training Camp. Miya’s smug and provocative personality leads him to target a mostly unaffected Kageyama, though eventually, his accusations get to him. By the time the two meet again at Nationals, Kageyama has worked through Miya’s emotional manipulation and strives to defeat him using his secret weapon: Hinata. Miya and his twin brother have a fan club following due to their skillful combinations and looks, annoying the rest of Karasuno.
