Albedo Overlord - Figures

The Overlord franchise began as an Isekai fantasy novel series written by Kugane Maruyama that was first published online in 2010 but was later printed in 2012 by Enterbrain, a publishing division of Kadokawa Productions. There are currently fourteen volumes of the light novel that have been published as of 2020. In September 2015, an anime adaptation produced by studio Madhouse first began airing and had two additional seasons produced in January and July of 2018 respectively. Since the franchise was quite a hit among fans, manufacturers were eager to jump off the bandwagon and made a variety of different kinds of merchandise for fans to collect. One type of merchandise that fans like in particular are figures of the character Albedo, the loyal succubus of the protagonist Ainz Ooal Gown. Out of the handful of different figures of the character, some of the most popular are the “Albedo 1/7 Scale Figure”, the “Albedo: Yukata Ver. 1/8 Scale Figure”, and the “Overlord Albedo: So-Bin Ver. 1/6 Scale Figure”.

Albedo 1/7 Scale Figure

This figure from F: NEX features the beautiful succubus Albedo in an alluring pose that has her leaning on a table with her knees bent and hips swaying off to the side as if to seduce the target of her love, Ainz Ooal Gown. One hand is raised up and is playing with her long, black hair, which falls over her arm and down to her hip. As a scale figure, it is packed with an incredible amount of detail to recreate Albedo as accurately as possible. Each and every feather in her black succubus wings look like they are individually crafted, as is every fold in her white and gold dress.

Albedo: Yukata Ver. 1/8 Scale Figure

This scale figure takes Albedo and gives her a unique, never before seen outfit. Her white and gold dress is replaced with a vibrant purple yukata with a spider web and butterfly pattern on it. The yukata is tied with a maroon and pink obi. Her characteristic black wings sprout from her waist and wrap around her body as she stares longingly at a paper fan with Ainz Ooal Gown printed on it. Albedo’s long, black hair is normally worn down but has been tied up with a red bow that matches with the rest of her outfit. This figure is great for fans of Albedo’s cuter side that also want to enjoy her in a unique outfit as well.

Overlord Albedo: So-Bin Ver. 1/6 Scale Figure

This figure from Union Creative is inspired by a unique illustration of Albedo drawn by the Overlord light novel illustrator, so-bin. It has Albedo wearing much more modern clothes that she usually wears in the world of Yggdrasil, replacing her white layered dress with a loose white top that hangs off of her shoulders and a short skirt, both of which are white. The golden spider web from her original outfit is replaced with a gold medallion around her neck. Other details of her outfit include black ribbons on her arm and fingers, a black ribbon with a skull ornament tied on one of her horns, and a pair of black gladiator sandals decorated with hearts and spider webs. Every feather in Albedo’s black wings is made with painstaking detail as well, giving the figure a very polished and sleek look.

About Albedo

Albedo is a succubus and middle sister of the three sibling NPCs created by the guild member named Tabula Smaragdina and acts as the leader and manager of the Floor Guardians of the Great Tomb of Nazarick. She is ranked quite highly in the hierarchy of Nazarick and generally only answers to the protagonist, Ainz Ooal Gown. Due to Ainz Ooal Gown manipulating Albedo’s programming, Albedo is head-over-heels in love with Ainz and is often very clingy and protective of him. This trait can sometimes cause her to lose self-control in more ways than one. On one hand, perhaps due to her succubus nature, she is quite assertive toward Ainz. On the other, she is quick to lose her temper at anyone that attempts to harm Ainz in any way, even if these attempts end with him not taking any damage.

Other Important Overlord Characters

Albedo’s role as the leader of the Floor Guardians often has her interacting often with many powerful NPCs that reside in Nazarick and, of course, Ainz Ooal Gown himself. Although Albedo manages the general actions of the Floor Guardians, she does not always get along with everyone. This can be seen especially in her relationship with Shalltear Bloodfallen. These two are both in love with Ainz and will often compete with each other for his attention and will sometimes use violence if they deem it necessary. The relationship between Albedo and her two sisters, Nigredo and Rubedo, is generally positive, though Albedo will not hesitate to punish them if they go against Ainz’s orders.
