Final Fantasy VII is a Japanese RPG that was developed by Square Enix and released for the Playstation in 1997. Even though the Final Fantasy franchise had already gained renown across the globe, the seventh main entry in the series brought the popularity of the series to an entirely different level. In response, many different manufacturers were eager to make collectible merchandise for fans to pick up. Among the wide variety of plushies, art books, clothing, and other trinkets produced, figures are one of the most popular kinds of merchandise that fans like to collect. Some of the most popular figures are inspired by the character Aerith Gainsborough, one of the playable characters in the game. Three of the most popular figures of Aerith include the “Play Arts Kai Final Fantasy VII Remake Aerith Gainsborough”, the “Play Arts Kai Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Aerith Gainsborough Action Figure”, and the “Final Fantasy Trading Arts Kai Mini No. 7 - Aerith Gainsborough”.

About Aerith Gainsborough

Aerith Gainsborough is a playable character in Final Fantasy VII. She was raised in the Sector 5 slums of Midgar and can often be found in the abandoned church there tending to the flower patch inside. Although she treats most people with great compassion and kindness, Aerith is quite eager to put a stop to Shinra’s plans, as they desire to harvest the planet’s energy for their own personal gain. Aerith also has a history with Shinra, as she was held captive by them as a child because she was half-Cetra, an ancient race of beings with a unique connection to the planet. Fortunately, she managed to escape to Sector 5 with her life.

Other Important Final Fantasy Characters

Before the events of Final Fantasy VII, Aerith meets Zack Fair in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. The two end up getting along quite well together, despite Aerith being scared of members of SOLDIER. They even end up keeping in contact for several years after their first meeting, showing just how close the two had become. Several years later, she meets Cloud Strife in an almost eerily similar fashion to how she and Zack met. After enemies threaten to arrest Aerith, she asks him to protect her. After learning of Cloud and Avalanche’s plans to stop Shinra, she ends up joining the party as well.
