Kyojuro Rengoku Demon Slayer - Figures

Demon Slayer is a manga series that first began its serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2016 and later had an anime adaptation produced by Ufotable that first aired in April 2019. This adaptation threw the series into the limelight and caused its popularity to quickly boom in the anime community. Shortly after the original airing of the television series, a sequel movie was greenlit and was to cover the next major arc of the original manga, the Infinity Train arc. While the main characters certainly get their share of the spotlight in this arc, Kyojuro Rengoku is given noticeable attention as well. Fans have come to enjoy his character and, as such, a wide range of different kinds of merchandise inspired by the character have been produced, one of the most notable kinds being figures. Out of the half dozen or so figures available to fans, three of the most popular would be the “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train Kyojuro Rengoku 1/8 Scale Figure”, the “Figuarts Mini Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Kyojuro Rengoku”, and the “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Kyojuro Rengoku Super Premium Figure”.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train Kyojuro Rengoku 1/8 Scale Figure

This figure immediately catches any viewer’s eyes with a striking pose that features Kyojuro Rengoku standing up straight and proud. Kyojuro has his red Nichirin Blade unsheathed and stuck straight in the ground, opting to use it to rest one of his hands rather than brandishing it as a weapon. The facial expression of the figure shows a calm, yet intensely confident gaze that exudes Kyojuro’s rather brazen nature. Kyojuro is also seen wearing his classic Demon Slayer outfit, which includes the standard Demon Slayer uniform along with Kyojuro’s fire-themed haori that flows behind him. The included stand is also covered in flames that surround the figure itself, further adding to Kyojuro’s fire theme. This particular figure is also a scale figure, meaning that it strives to recreate the original character as a 3-D figure with as much accuracy as possible. It is around eight inches tall and is made with a combination of ABS and PVC.

Figuarts Mini Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Kyojuro Rengoku Figure

The Figuarts Mini series of figures takes popular characters and gives them a smaller, chibi-style twist. This rendition of Kyojuro has a much larger head and smaller body when compared to scale figures. Although there are some points of articulation in the figure’s head and legs that allow the user to change the pose of this figure slightly, this figure generally takes a fairly neutral standing pose. In several example photographs, Kyojuro’s arms can be seen resting by his side and his feet planted firmly on the ground. The face of the figure also features Kyojuro’s pronounced eyebrows and a confident smile, much like other renditions of the character. Additional arm parts and a stand are also included in this figure for extra customization. This figure’s smaller size and price also makes it a perfect addition to one’s collection without breaking the bank.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Kyojuro Rengoku Super Premium Figure

This figure from Sega showcases Kyojuro in a more battle-ready pose, with his knees bent and his sword drawn in one hand and pointed toward an unseen target in front of him. His second hand is gripping his sheath, which also sticks out of his haori slightly. The beaming smile on his face also shows off Kyojuro’s intense confidence and willingness to help those in need. Kyojuro’s haori is seen resting around his Demon Slayer uniform. All in all, this figure displays many unique aspects of Kyojuro’s design effectively, like his crimson red Nichirin Blade, flame-themed haori and socks, long yellow and red hair, and his large, bushy eyebrows.

About Kyojuro Rengoku

Kyojuro Rengoku is one of the many secondary characters of Demon Slayer and is the Flame Hashira (also known as Pillars) of the Demon Slayers. Being one of the nine Hashira in the organization, Kyojuro is an immensely powerful fighter and is strong enough to defeat rather strong demons without much effort. Aside from being a Demon Slayer, Kyojuro also has a set of moral codes that he follows - one of the most notable being that the strong have an obligation to protect the weak. As one may expect from the Flame Hashira, Kyojuro uses Flame Breathing when he fights to bolster his physical abilities to slay demons. Like with most of the other Hashira, Kyojuro’s role in the series was fairly limited until the Infinity Train arc, where he was given much more attention. There, he teams up with the main characters, Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke to defeat one of Muzan’s elite demons.

Other Important Demon Slayer Characters

One of the most important characters from the Demon Slayer series that the audience often sees interacting with Kyojuro is the protagonist, Tanjiro Kamado. Although the two eventually found a mutual respect for each other, their relationship was rather unstable when they first met. The reason for this is Kyojuro’s belief that Tanjiro protecting his sister Nezuko, who had been turned into a demon, was a severe breach of the Demon Slayer’s code. As they fought together, however, Tanjiro began to look up to Kyojuro while Kyojuro learned to respect Tanjiro as a Demon Slayer. Kyojuro also was a mentor figure to the Love Hashira, Mitsuri Kanroji, who derived her Love Breathing technique from Kyojuro’s Flame Breathing.
