Nezuko Kamado Nendoroid Demon Slayer - Figures

During the Spring 2019 anime season one of the animes that aired and gained massive popularity was Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer), because of the massive popularity all sorts of merchandise were produced and sold to its large amount of fans. Among the products available, such as Demon Slayer figures, stationery, and keychains, one of the very popular products were the Nendoroid figures. These figures are modified versions of the characters, different to their usual appearance. Nendoroids are chibi versions, chibi being a Japanese term to mean short or small but in the case of a figure, the models have a much larger head with a disproportionate body to appear small and cute. The very popular nendoroids include the following: the “Nezuko Kamado Nendoroid” and the “Tanjiro Kamado Nendoroid”.

Kimetsu no Yaiba Nezuko Kamado Nendoroid

The Nezuko Nendoroid comes with many extra arms, legs, and head attachments allowing for a wide variety of poses. Nezuko wears her usual pink kimono and black haori as well as her signature green bamboo gag in her mouth. There are two different head parts, one is a neutral face and the other is a ferocious expression as veins appear on her forehead and cheeks. These expressions can be paired with various leg actions, whether she is kneeling on the ground, marching forward, or kicking something with one leg raised high. To match these moves the arms are either clenched tightly or unclenched and relaxed. This nendoroid also comes with a wooden box that she is carried in during the series allowing for a wide range of arrangements

Kimetsu no Yaiba Tanjiro Kamado Nendoroid

The Tanjiro Nendoroid has him wearing his usual black Demon Slayer uniform and green checkered haori as well as his signature hanafuda earrings. This product comes with many different optional parts such as a neutral face, smiling face, and a determined face as he releases an attack. To go with these different expressions Tanjiro is able to hold the Nichirin blade in his hand which is connected to a line of water. The water can be changed into various forms to seem as though he had just released one of his water breathing techniques. These variations allow for a novel position as the Nendoroid can be arranged while in mid air and not placed on the stand.

About the Characters

The above characters are some of the main cast from the hit anime series Kimetsu no Yaiba. Nezuko Kamado and Tanjiro Kamado are siblings from a large eight person family. Unfortunately everyone apart from the two end up dead with the younger sister transformed into a man-eating demon. Tanjiro, because he is the oldest son he has been brought up to be very responsible and tolerant. He doesn’t care about being number one and getting all the credit since he believes that their own lives are more important and would happily cooperate with the other members in the Demon Slayer corps. His positivity and unwavering will to protect his loved ones gains him much popularity among the fans. His strong beliefs about being an upright citizen can sometimes lead to comedic moments allowing Tanjiro to be a very likeable character. While Nezuko was still human she was a very responsible older sister being the second oldest in the family. When Tanjiro was away doing work she made sure to protect her siblings in his stead. When Nezuko has been transformed into a demon her mind has regressed into a child so she cannot communicate properly and acts very childish. The gap between her innocent actions and her fierce behaviour when she fights is very entertaining, gaining her much popularity.

Reviews

These Nendoroid figures are extremely popular, both Nendoroid characters requiring restocks and both of them even have a second production run proving how high the demand for these nendoroid figures are. The first production run of the Nezuko Nendoroid was quickly sold out with the second production run having a limited number left. The Tanjiro Nendoroid are even more popular than the Nezuko Nendoroids. Both the first and second production runs have been sold out even though they have yet to be released and shipped to their customers. The high demand for both types of these nendoroids shows how great the series Kimetsu no Yaiba is, even though the anime season when it aired has already finished its popularity only continues to rise, resulting in the products being out of stock. Unlike other figures which display smaller versions of these characters, Nendoroids bring about a different charm than usual. Due to the larger head their eyes and facial expressions are bigger as well, allowing the fans to enjoy a cutesy version of their favourite characters because of the larger doe-like eyes.
