Monster Hunter Nendoroid - Figures
In 2006, Good Smile Company in Japan created a special brand of figurines called “Nendoroid”. They are marked by a characteristic disproportion of head to body ratio. The character is given an overly large head in relation to its small body. It was thought to be a new and cute kind of collectible and since then, Nendoroids for hundreds of different characters from a wide range of storyline titles have been produced. The figures have many points of articulation and many parts of the figure are articulated and can be swapped with optional parts, which gives them a range of different poses and expressions. They are said to look like clay models, hence the name “Nendoroid” (the Japanese word for clay is “nendo”).
In some ways, the fact that a character is made into a Nendoroid shows a mark of success. After the success of Monster Hunter World in 2018, Good Smile Company announced its plans to release a series of Monster Hunter Nendoroids. Since their release, the demand for these Nendoroids has grown and they have been steadily released in waves over the last couple years. Many Nendoroids have a standard release version and then a special DX release that comes later, but has considerably more interchangeable parts and pieces. As noted on fan sites, for the true collector who had already bought the original release and loved it, it is hard to resist buying the DX special release.
Nendoroid Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Hunter: Female Nargacuga Alpha Armor Ver. DX
This Nendoroid is from the successful Monster Hunter World: Iceborne expansion. “She is one who hunts under the cover of twilight, moving like the wind.” This is a figure of a female hunter in the Nargacuga Alpha Armor. This figure is fully articulated and has two face plates. One is her regular face and the other is her battle crazy face. These can be interchanged according to the pose the collector wants the figure to hold. For additional customization, she comes with twin axe blades, a hidden saber sword, two carving knives, and throwing knife effect parts. There is also a removable battle helmet.
This is the second release or the special DX version release, which has an expanded array of display options and accessories in addition to all the parts and features of the original. In addition, she comes with a hidden tomahawk and dual blades, a critical hit effect part, an original eye glint effect part made for the Nendoroid, an interchangeable head part for displaying her with a ponytail haircut and a Demondrug item. The numerous accessories and points of articulation make for a wide range of customizability.

Nendoroid Monster Hunter: World Hunter: Female Xeno’jiiva Beta Armor Edition DX Ver.
This is a female Monster Hunter straight from the PlayStation game Monster Hunter: World. “She is the one that has hunted the Dark Light Dragon, and has conquered the moonlight”. The Xeno’jiiva Beta Armor she wears is made all the more impressive by the partial hand-painting done on this piece. The figurine comes with two face plates. One facial expression is her regular face while the other is a hurt battle expression. The Insect Glaive Xeno Shmaena, a Grancathar III, and her hunter’s carving knife are some of the accessories that come in the packaging. She also comes with a display stand that must be used due to the figure being rather top-heavy.
This is the special DX version of the previous release. It has all the original perks of the first version, but now comes with additional bonus parts that considerably expand the range of expressions and possible poses. She has a replacement head included in the box which is used for those who want to customize her look and give her a shorter hair-style.
Also included in the DX version is an explosion effect part and an explosive barrel, a firing effect part, and the Light Bowgun Xeno Neqiina. Combinations of interchangeable accessories combined with joint articulation poses make the customization range much greater than the previously released standard version.

Nendoroid Monster Hunter: World Hunter: Female Rathalos Armor Edition DX Ver.
This female hunter wears Rathalos armor from Monster Hunter: World Hunter. Good Smile Company has gifted her with a plethora of accessories and optional pieces to customize the figure with poses both in and out of battle. “She is the one that has hunted the King of the Skies and conquered the world.”
This is the upgraded DX version that contains all original parts and pieces of the standard version as well as a considerable amount of bonus equipment and accessories. The Great Sword Red Wing and her hunter’s carving knife are the two basic weapons she is equipped with. She is dressed in red battle armor and a removable battle helmet. When not wearing her battle helmet, she also has a replacement head piece for fans who wish to have her wear a ponytail.
In addition, this special DX version comes with bonus parts that include slinger parts, scout flies, barbecue food with a table and chair, and monster footsteps. This is definitely one of the more versatile Nendoroid figures given the included range of unique interchangeable accessories. Fan sites assert this collectors box includes more than enough to stimulate the imagination. One thing to note, however, is that she is unable to stand without the included stand.
