Pokemon Nendoroid - Figures
The popular Pokemon video game, trading card game, and anime franchise has created a large community of fans, resulting in a rather large demand for merchandise based on the series. The Pokemon universe features many beloved human and Pokemon characters, leading to a variety of figures, dolls, plushies, and other kinds of merchandise based on the series. Some of these products are molded and painted to replicate their on-screen appearance as accurately as possible, though some companies like to take their own liberties with the characters to create something new, yet nostalgic. One popular line of figures is Good Smile Company’s Nendoroid line, which depicts many different characters with a much larger head and smaller body that their original counterparts. This gives the figures more of a cutesy, chibi look. The Nendoroid line started in 2006 and has quickly caught on with fans ever since. A few popular Nendoroid figures from the Pokemon series are the “Nendoroid Pokemon Ash and Pikachu”, “Nendoroid Pokemon Giovanni and Mewtwo”, “Nendoroid Pokemon Lillie”, and “Nendoroid Pokemon Lana”.
Nendoroid Pokemon Ash and Pikachu
This set features the protagonist of the Pokemon anime series, Ash Ketchum, complete with his iconic outfit from the first series and of course, his beloved Pikachu. Ash comes with three interchangeable face plates with varying facial expressions including a happy smiling face, a fierce focused face, and a calm, contented smiling face. Ash’s hat can be worn either forward or backward, just like in the anime series. Pikachu also comes with interchangeable face plates, including a standard happy smile and a fierce battle face. The pack also comes with optional parts including a Poke Ball and lightning effect parts for Pikachu’s attack poses. The several points of articulation allow its user to pose Ash and Pikachu in a variety of different poses. The two are not made to scale, as is standard with the Nendoroid style, and Ash stands at just under 4 inches tall.

Nendoroid Pokemon Giovanni and Mewtwo
This pack features both the leader of Team Rocket, Giovanni, and the popular artificially cloned Pokemon, Mewtwo. Giovanni’s figure is painted with his black jacket complete with a red “R” emblem. Giovanni has three different face plates to choose from, a standard evil smirk, a menacing grin half-covered in the shadows, and a more realistic face that contrasts with the normal chibi style of Nendoroid figures. Mewtwo also comes with optional parts as well, like a Psystrike effect part and an alternate arm to help its user easily create Mewtwo’s signature battle poses. Both figures are articulated, allowing for a variety of different poses to choose from.

Nendoroid Pokemon Lillie
Lillie, a character from Pokemon Sun and Moon, is the mysterious assistant of Professor Kukui. This figure features the character in her standard outfit: a white and baby blue dress, a big, wide brimmed hat, and long knee-high socks. The three included face plates also allow for a variety of different expressions, like a standard frown, a cute smile, and an awkward smile that represents her character from the game perfectly. She also comes with her bag and a Cosmog as well, which can be posed floating around with transparent pieces included in the figure. Along with the various optional pieces and expressions, the great range of articulation allow the owner of this figure to pose Lillie and a variety of different poses from the game.

Nendoroid Pokemon Lana
Lana is the Brooklet Hill Trial Captain from Pokemon Sun and Moon and this Nendoroid figure has her wearing her classic blue bob-cut, gold headband, and blue and white outfit. Three different face plates with various expressions are also included in this Nendoroid figure: a standard, neutral expression, a satisfied smile with her eyes closed, and a blushing, embarrassed expression. This figure also includes a fishing rod, a net ball, a Wishiwashi, and a transparent plastic piece depicting Wishiwashi in its School Form. The various accessories included in this figure and its articulated joints are great for recreating many different iconic scenes from the game and the anime series.
