Gurren Lagann, also known as Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (Pierce the Heavens, Gurren Lagann), is an amazing popular mecha anime that aired in Spring 2007 and left a big impact on pop culture. The anime has inspired various figures of its main characters like Simon, Kamina, and Yoko that each showcases their signature style and trademark symbols, outfits, and personalities. Simon and Yoko, the main lead characters, are one of the most popular characters and have numerous figurines. Nendoroid Gurren Lagann Simon
In the chibi-style of Nendoroid, Gurren Lagann’s main protagonist, Simon, comes with two different face plates, the first being his sweet and shy smile the fans know and love while the second shows a face shadowed with intense determination. The figure also includes two different hair and jacket pieces. Each part has a calmer, more relaxed style while the other seem to be dramatically blowing in the wind. He also comes with his trademark Core Drill, which can either be held in his hand or worn around his neck like a pendant. Simon can also interact and stand on the head of the Gurren Lagann Nendoroid that can be bought separately.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Kamina 1/8 Scale Figure
This figure of the Mighty Kamina, the founder and leader of Team Gurren, is sculpted by Naoto Moriwaki. It showcases his signature style that only a manly and confident guy like Kamina can pull off. Kamina is posed with one foot standing on a rock as he wears a confident smile on his face. His torn cape blows in the wind as he holds his nodachi sword in hand. Kamina’s unique style is finished off with the addition of his unique red sunglasses.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Yoko Race Queen Ver. 1/7 Scale Figure
This figure has the sniper Yoko Littner showing off her daring body and trademark crimson red ponytail. She’s dressed in a unique red, black, and white two-piece outfit that is left a little bit unzipped to let the fans enjoy her bold figure. She also comes with a big belt with her trademark cracked skull and a closed yellow and white striped umbrella. The figure is also made complete with her bright and carefree smile that made her a fan favorite after her debut.

About the Characters
Simon is the main protagonist of Gurren Lagann, although fans first thought the role would go to his pilot partner Kamina, the leader of Team Gurren. Simon is still a very popular character in the series. He starts out as an anxious and soft-spoken boy with very low self-esteem and a noticeably scrawny and underdeveloped build due to living underground most of his life. In the beginning, he always made up for it with his silent, yet unwavering determination to drill through the ground and reach the Earth’s surface. With Kamina by his side, Simon begins to build courage and confidence and went on to continue carrying on Kamina’s fighting spirit. Kamina is Simon’s role model and his foil that always balances out Simon’s softer nature. Kamina is confident, sometimes too much so, which makes him act or talk before thinking of the consequences. That said, he is a fearless and passionate character whose larger-than-life personality made him gain the respect of the rest of Team Gurren. Yoko is the series’ main heroine and is rather skilled at fighting, especially with her trusty rifle. She becomes close friends with Simon and Kamina and is respected for her bright spirit and spunky personality that made her catch the eyes of both Simon and Kamina. Yoko tends to act as the most mature and rational member of the group. That doesn’t mean she’s not afraid to speak her mind and even butt heads with her team to get her point across, however. The three make a great team together and make up a large portion of Gurren Lagann’s humor and charm.
About Gurren Lagann
Gurren Lagann is a Japanese anime series produced by Gainax, directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi, and originally broadcast from April 2007 to September 2007. It follows the characters Simon, an underground digger with a dream to one day reach the surface of the Earth with his friend Kamina. Together they come across Yoko Littner and travel the surface world. In their adventures, they come across “beastmen” sent by the Spiral King to send them back underground, though the team manages to defeat their opponents every time. As the series progresses, its scale increases astronomically until the final evil is defeated and the world is saved.
