Hatsune Miku - Figures
Hatsune Miku is a character that originated as a voice synthesizer program called “Vocaloid” and has come to be one of the most popular voicebanks that are currently available for the software. Her cute design features unique blue twintails and has been used, edited, and completely redesigned in a plethora of music videos and art on video sharing websites like Nico Nico Douga. The character has become so popular that merchandise like art prints and Vocaloid figures have been released for a number of years. The number of Hatsune Miku figures on the market is incredibly high, as multiple new figures are announced every year. Some of these annual figures include designs of Miku that are themed around specific seasons, like Snow Miku and Sakura Miku. Espresto est Dress & Hair Hatsune Miku Racing Miku: 2019 Kimono Ver.
This figure from Banpresto’s Espresto est Dress & Hair figure line features Miku dressed up in a pink sakura-themed kimono. The dress itself is made with several different shades of pink, though it has several light blue accents to help match the kimono with Miku’s unique blue hair. The kimono is tied with a purple obi with a white and blue bow on the back. Apart from the main garb, this Miku has long kimono-style sleeves that flow in the wind along with her long, blue twintails. Matching pink thigh-high socks can also be seen on the figure as well. To reinforce the racing motif, racing logos for both Good Smile Company and Crypton can be found on Miku’s chest and leg respectively. The figure is posed on a stand and with one hand on her chest and the other held out in front of her as she looks off to the side with a smile.

Hatsune Miku: Magical Mirai 2019 Ver. 1/7 Scale Figure
This impressive figure is based on Miku’s design from the 2019 Magical Mirai event that was originally created by ni02. Since the theme of this year’s event was “Future Circus”, this Miku figure was given a rather futuristic performer’s outfit. It consists of a layered skirt, a black and blue jacket, a pink bowtie, a pair of thigh-high socks, and a tiny white and gold top hat. The pose of the figure has Miku standing as she leans forward with one hand over her chest with the other hand holding out a microphone baton out in front of her. Her long blue twintails twist and twirl around her as her vibrant eyes are accompanied by a cheerful smile that will greet anyone who passes by. This figure also comes with a unique base with floating cubes and stars that appear where Miku stands.

Nendoroid Racing Miku 2020. Ver.
This small, cute chibi figure is based on a design of Miku from the 2020 Hatsune Miku GT Project. It features Miku in a unique mechanic’s uniform that includes a white, red, and black dress, black fingerless gloves and boots, and a headset. The figure also includes several extra parts like facial expressions, arms in various poses, and other accessories like an impact wrench, a team flag, and a special Nendoroid-style car for Miku to drive around in. The various points of articulation also allow users to pose this figure in many different ways. It also includes a stand to keep it from falling over.

Hatsune Miku is one of the several characters created by Crypton Future Media for Yamaha’s Vocaloid software, which is a program used to create lyrics using sets of synthesized voices called voicebanks. Each voicebank by Crypton has an avatar designed for them, and Miku’s design features a young girl with long blue twintails wearing a gray and black uniform with a blue tie. Hatsune Miku is used by many people to create music videos that are shared on sites like Nico Nico Douga, where they can go on to gain millions of views. Throughout the years, many designs of Hatsune have been created, which resulted in a similarly wide variety of figures that have appeared in the figure market. Vocaloid itself is a software developed by Yamaha that allows its users to create synthesized lyrics by using various different sets of voicebanks.
