Nico Yazawa: Picnic Girl Ver. Figure

This scale figure design came from a Love Live! Cafe Campaign where fans voted on the character best suited for an early summer picnic. Nico’s victory warranted a special illustration and this commemorative figure. She skips forward with her hands raised in her trademark “Nico Nico Nii” pose. She has a picnic basket filled with a bento and thermos slung on her left arm. Her classic pigtails are adorned with pink scrunchies instead of her usual red bows. Her radiant smile is framed by her bangs and pink sunglasses resting on her head. She’s wearing a lightweight, midriff-bearing camisole that flutters upward with her movement. On top of that is a short sleeve hoodie. The outfit finishes off with jean shorts, high top sneakers, and slouchy white socks. Notable details include the folds in her hoodie, the weaving on the basket, and pattern on the bottom of her shoes.

Birthday Figure Project Love Live! Nico Yazawa Figure

Part of the Birthday Figure line, this scale figure from Stronger shows an ultra-cute Nico in full celebration. She stands with her knees turned in and her right foot slightly lifting off the ground. Her arms spread out to her sides as she stands mid-performance. Her outfit is layered and ruffled like most µ's costumes, but the variety in texture and finishes really stands out. The knee-high boots shine like a patent leather or rubber material in stark contrast to the matte bows and her knee-high socks. The innermost layer of her skirt is a shiny, see-through fabric cinched with a glossy black garter. Her shiny black and red bow around her neck complete the alternating texture pattern. The figure also comes with a tall, pink exclamation mark shaped stand with Nico’s name written on the side.

About Nico Yazawa

Nico Yazawa is the attention-loving, overly ambitious, and slightly abrasive idol expert member of µ's. As an idol, Nico developed an always smiling, peppy character, complete with her catchphrase, “Nico Nico Nii!” Nico’s alternate personality and her constant need for the spotlight are explained once the rest of µ's visits Nico at home. Her difficult home life made her into a secondary caregiver for her three younger siblings and personal cheerleader for them as well as her mother. Despite this depth, Nico denies sympathy and insists that she is still the best idol in µ's. This belief has also returned home with her, as she has led her younger siblings to believe she is the center and star of µ's. She has a tense relationship with Maki Nishikino, though the two of them eventually develop a strong bond.

Other Important Love Live! Characters

Nozomi Tojo is the wise, mysterious, and mischievous third-year member of µ's. From the beginning, Nozomi supported Honoka’s efforts to form a school idol group, against Eli’s wishes. Nozomi offers help to Honoka’s group directly and indirectly by manipulating the various members until all nine are assembled together. Nozomi also suggested the name µ's after the nine muses of Greek mythology, as she believed they would all join together in the end. Friendship is very precious to Nozomi and she considers meeting the rest of µ's a miracle.

Eli Ayase is the highly respected, stoic student body president of Otonokizaka High School. Initially, Eli strongly opposes Honoka’s attempts to form a school idol group, but eventually supports her efforts to save the school. Secretly, Eli also harbors slight resentment for µ's at first due to her own failures as a ballet dancer in her youth. With coercion from Nozomi, Eli ends up joining µ's as their trainer and primary choreographer and learns to love dancing again. She is highly praised for her beauty by many characters in the series, much to Nico’s chagrin.
