Still hot, by March 2017 over 10 million copies were in circulation, reaching 26 million by December 2019. My Hero Academia is in part famous for its wonderful cast of characters and their diversity. There are tough characters, quiet and cool characters, almighty characters (literally) and as per manga trope, the cute, ditzy girl that has feelings for the main character; Ochaco Uraraka, also known as Uravity. About Ochaco Uraraka (Uravity)
Uraraka’s main objective in becoming a pro hero is to earn enough money to support a comfortable life for her parents. Coming from a not so well off family, she is deeply empathetic and has a keen emotional awareness. Thanks to that and her positive disposition, Uraraka is on good terms with all members of her class and is close friends with a number of classmates. For all her goodness and wholesome character though, she often struggles to contain laughter when amused by people or their quirks; a little inappropriate but harmless considering her laid back and airheaded personality. Uraraka develops feelings for Izuku Midoriya that at first, she struggles to deal with but eventually realizes that heroism takes priority over romance. Her ability to control gravity and weight made her a formidable hero, but it wasn’t until she learned advanced fighting techniques from gunhead that she really came into her own as a close-quarters fighter, even being able to grapple and successfully slam Himiko Toga into the ground face first.
Other Important My Hero Academia Characters
The main reason Uraraka decided to become a hero was to support her mother and father. They could be said to be the most important characters in relation to Uraraka’s presence in the U.A. academy. She is also close friends with Tenya Iida and Tsuyu Asai. Her closest relationship though is with Izuku Midoriya, for whom she has deep romantic feelings. Gunhead was instrumental in teaching Uraraka hand to hand combat and Ryukyu for hiring her for an internship.
