The Monster Hunter series is a collection of action role-playing games that are developed and published by Capcom and were first released in 2004. Each entry generally has the player slaying or trapping intimidating monsters that are much larger and stronger than their player characters are. The main goal generally involves crafting better equipment from defeated monsters until they are strong enough to handle even deadlier monsters. Today, there have been 5 main games released along with a myriad of re-releases, spin-offs, and various other kinds of media projects. In response to the franchise’s success, many different kinds of merchandise were produced. While this includes things like apparel, plushies, and other trinkets, one of the most popular kinds of merchandise is figures. Figures of Nergigante, one of the Elder Dragons from Monster Hunter World, are notably popular among fans. Some of the most popular figures of Nergigante include the Capcom Figure Builder Monster Hunter Standard Model Plus Vol. 13 Box Set (Re-run)”, the “Capcom Figure Builder Monster Hunter Standard Model Plus Vol. 10 Box Set (Re-run)”, the “Capcom Builder Monster Hunter Standard Model Plus Vol. 14 Box Set (Re-run)”, and the “Capcom Figure Builder Creators Model Monster Hunter Nergigante.

Capcom Figure Builder Monster Hunter Standard Model Plus Vol. 13 Box Set (Re-run)

This item is one of many different sets from Capcom’s Monster Hunter Figure Builder series. Each set includes approximately six different moderately sized figures, with each figure being based on a different monster. Every order includes a random assortment of figures in a blind bag format, which may lead to duplicates or missing figures. Volume 13 in this series happens to include a version of the deadly Nergigante in it. This recreation has the intimidating monster standing on two legs with its wings stretched out and its jaw full of lethally sharp teeth wide open. This pose allows its viewer to get a wonderful look at its wings, which have a rather beautiful yellow, blue and purple pattern that somewhat betrays its otherwise deadly appearance. Despite the figure’s small size and modest price, it is quite detailed, particularly in regards to its scales and spikes. Other monsters featured in this set include Kulve Taroth, Kushala Daora, Teostra, Lunastra, Xeno’jiiva, and a clear version of Lunastra as a bonus.

Capcom Figure Builder Monster Hunter Standard Model Plus Vol. 14 Box Set (Re-run)

Like the item listed above, this box set includes a variety of monster figures, including Nergigante. However, this version of Nergigante is a stronger, deadlier variant of Nergigante, the Ruiner Nergigante. This special variant introduced in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne has evolved through numerous battles to have larger spikes, as well as more brutal attacks and cunning strategies. Two distinct characteristics between Nergigante and the Ruiner variant in terms of appearance are the Ruiner’s overall metallic sheen and darker colored hide. The monster itself is posed on two legs and its mouth wide open, as if it were in the middle of letting out a deafening roar. Other monsters included in this set are Bazelgeuse, Lavasioth, Radobaan, a secret monster, and a clear version of Velkhana as a bonus.

Unlike the previous box sets, this figure is sold on its own. To compensate, this figure measures almost a foot long and is backed with an impressive amount of detail and color. Nergigante is posed standing on all four of its legs on top of a base sculpted in the shape of a large, purplish crystal. Its large, spiky wings are tucked under its body as best as it can as it seems to peer at the land below it for its next prey. Its two large horns, numerous teeth, razor-sharp claws, and deadly spikes covering its body makes it clear that whatever its next target is will likely meet an unfortunate end soon.

About Nergigante

Nergigante is one of the fifth-generation Elder Dragons and is found in Monster Hunter World and its expansion, Iceborne. As an Elder Dragon, Nergigante is considered to be unbelievably powerful, often requiring a group of the most skilled hunters to defeat it. This monster is also unusually aggressive and is likely to attack any potential threat without a second thought. Aside from its powerful claws, Nergigante also uses its many spikes to cause incredible damage to any unfortunate opponents. As a hunter fights Nergigante, more spikes will continue to grow on it and, if allowed to hardern, will let the creature deal even more damage. These spikes can also be used as projectiles in some cases. Despite its overwhelming strength, it has no special element associated with it and is surprisingly susceptible to status ailments and debuffs.

Other Important Monster Hunter Characters

As one of the strongest monsters in Monster Hunter World, Nergigante will hunt and consume nearly any other creature, but it specifically targets other Elder Dragons as a source of energy. In particular, Nergigante will go after Kushala Daora, Teostra, and Lunastra.
