Kirito (Kazuto Kirigaya) Sword Art Online - Figures
Sword Art Online is a franchise that got its start as a web novel series penned by Reki Kawahara in 2002 and was eventually published by Dengeki Bunko in 2009, where it is still currently ongoing. The light novel series gained an incredible amount of popularity among readers, resulting in its first anime adaptation being announced and later aired in 2012. From that point on, Sword Art Online spread like wildfire, causing several spinoffs, games, other adaptations, and, of course, merchandise to be produced. One particular form of merchandise that fans like to collect is various figures of the protagonist, Kirito. Among the several dozen figures of the main character, some of the most popular include the “Lucrea Sword Art Online 10th Anniversary Kirito & Asuna”, the “figma Sword Art Online: Alicization Kirito: Alicization Ver.”, and the “Sword Art Online: Alicization Kirito: Ex-Chronicle Ver. Limited Premium Figure”.

Sword Art Online: Alicization Kirito: Ex-Chronicle Ver. Limited Premium Figure
This limited-edition figure from Sega is inspired by Kirito’s design from Ex-Chronicle, a Sword Art Online event created to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the series. Kirito is posed casually standing casually as he rests his arms on the two swords he used most in Aincrad: the Elucidator and the Dark Repulser. The outfit Kirito wears is also rather unique, as it was made specifically for this event. It consists of a dark gray button-up shirt with black trim, a black jacket with a blue pocket square, black slacks, and a matching blue tie that seems like it is blown by a gentle breeze. The base of the figure is shaped like a white hexagon and includes the logo of the Ex-Chronicle event.

About Kirito
Kirito, also known as Kirigaya Kazuto, is the protagonist of the main-line Sword Art Online series. He lost his parents at an early age, causing him to live with his aunt, grandfather, and cousin for most of his life. Growing up, Kirito became increasingly interested in technology, which eventually drew him to playing the NerveGear game, Sword Art Online. Since he was one of the one-thousand players with beta access to the game, he had a significant advantage compared to other players and often went adventuring solo. As time went on and the game became more difficult, however, he found himself forced to join other people, namely Asuna, Yui, and Klein.
Other Important Sword Art Online Characters
As the protagonist of the over 20 volume light novel series, it is no surprise that Kirito interacts with many different characters across a long period. However, by far the most important character to Kirito is Asuna, his romantic partner. The two first met early on in the Aincrad arc and displayed that they made a decent team when they worked together. This teamwork eventually ended up with the two getting married in-game and continuing their relationship outside of Sword Art Online. Yui is a part of Sword Art Online’s AI and is adopted by both Kirito and Asuna as their daughter shortly after the two married. Even after the Aincrad arc, Yui can be seen as a fairy helping Kirito or hiding in his clothing. Klein, also known as Tsuboi Ryotaro, is one of the first characters that Kirito meets in Aincrad. At that point, Klein knew next to nothing about how to play SAO, which led to Kirito teaching him the basics. Klein is quick to consider him a friend and eventually proves himself to be a great ally to Kirito.
