OtapediaDio Brando JoJo's Bizarre Adventure - Figures

Dio Brando is the main antagonist of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure in both Part 1 and Part 3. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure was created by Hirohiko Araki and first began serialization back in 1987 through the Shonen Jump Magazine from Shueisha. The manga and anime are both incredibly both in and out of Japan, and Dio has largely been to thank for the tension of the series. He has received a lot of positive critical reception over the years, being a focal point of the entire series over many arts. There are several figures of Dio available for purchase today. Some of the options are the “DIO Grandista Figure”, the “Dio Brando Super Action Statue (Hirohiko Araki Color Variant)”, and the “DIO Statue Legend Figure”.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders Grandista Dio Figure

This figure of DIO features him as he appears in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 3: Stardust Crusaders. He is pictured with his arms crossed and a devious smile on his face, showing his vampire fangs. He stands at approximately 10.6” tall and is non-articulated and non-scale. The colors of this figure are particularly striking. The painting of this DIO figure perfectly captures the bright yellow of his clothing contrasted with the green accents and red cape. The hair is also very well done, with wisps of it seeming to float above his head. This figure was most certainly sculpted with all of the personality of the original in mind.

About Dio Brando

Dio Brando (known only as DIO in Part 3) is the primary antagonist in Part 1 and 3. In Part 1 he becomes a vampire who lives dormant in a coffin for 100 years before being released, wreaking havoc on the world. In Part 3 he develops a stand, The World, which is among the most powerful in the entire series. Dio resents the Joestar family, beginning all the way back when he fought with Jonathan Joestar for power over the Joestar inheritance. After being revived 100 years later, his thirst for Joestar blood is not quenched, and he seeks to kill Joseph and Jotaro on their journey to stop him.

Other Important JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Characters

Jonathan Joestar is the main protagonist of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 1: Phantom Blood. Jonathan grew up with Dio as an adopted sibling after tragedy struck with Dio’s family. Jonathan is very kind and honest, going out of his way to help others and remaining positive. Dio seeks only to make Jonathan’s life miserable, though, taking everything away from him step by step. After Dio becomes a vampire, Jonathan trains to become a Hamon user to fight against him and save the world.

Joseph Joestar is the main protagonist of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 2: Battle Tendency. While Joseph does not encounter DIO during his prime, he encounters him later alongside his grandson, Jotaro Kujo. Joseph is adamant about getting revenge against DIO for the death of his grandfather, Jonathan, as well as to save his daughter, Holy. Joseph is a very goofy character and often serves as comic relief during some tense moments in the series. When DIO was awakened during Part 3: Joseph acquired the stand, Hermit Purple, to help him along his journey.
