Dragon Ball Z The Proud Namekian Piccolo (S.H. Figuarts) Figure

Bandai continues to show off their enhanced joint system with Piccolo’s entry in the S.H. Figuarts series. The special joints allow for increased movement, bringing Piccolo to life. As a design bonus, many of the joints are worked into the costuming or Namekian anatomy for smoother visibility. The additional hand pieces can be swapped around to pose Piccolo in his most powerful attacks, including the Explosive Demon Wave and Special Beam Cannon. Both head pieces feature detailed carving, with visible veins and delicate antennae or tightly wrapped headpiece. Piccolo’s large white cape works well with most poses, including levitation, possible with an articulated stand.

Dragon Ball Z Piccolo (Tamashii Buddies) Figure

Piccolo’s entry in the Tamashii Buddies line is as hilarious as it is adorable. The normally menacing Namekian is reduced to a mere 3.5 inches, reducing his battle capabilities while making him more office-appropriate. Despite his size, his expression remains serious and focused, as is Piccolo’s nature. He’s wearing his standard battle outfit with his large white cape and matching headpiece. The stark white contrasts beautifully with the vivid and muted greens on and around the figure. While the figure alone is cute enough, the Tamashii Buddies line also includes a painted backdrop. The backdrop beautifully replicates the anime’s distinct style and the art continues seamlessly onto the base.

About Piccolo

Piccolo is the last child and reincarnation of his father, the late King Piccolo, and the final antagonist of the first Dragon Ball series. He, his father, and Kami are believed to be part of the Namekians known as the Dragon Clan, the creators of the dragon balls. Piccolo himself was born the day Goku killed his father as an egg King Piccolo spat out to avenge him. Despite losing to Goku at the end of the first series, Piccolo commits to his plan of revenge. However, after training and bonding with Goku’s son, Gohan, Piccolo’s personality drastically changes. As time goes on, Piccolo eventually becomes one of Earth’s greatest defenders. And so every May 9th shall be known as Piccolo Day!

Other Important Dragon Ball Characters

Kami is formerly Guardian of Earth and one of the two beings resulting from the split of the Nameless Namekian. It is believed that King Piccolo represented the evil parts of the Nameless Namekian while Kami represented the good. Kami himself created the titular wish-granting dragon balls of Earth. During the Androids Saga, Kami fuses with Piccolo. Since Piccolo is the reincarnation of King Piccolo, their fusion returns Piccolo to the Nameless Namekian.

Majin Buu is a primary antagonist in the Dragon Ball Z series. However, Majin Buu more accurately describes a legendary monster with distinct personalities, some of which help fight against its evil counterparts. Majin Buu is incredibly powerful, effortlessly destroying the strongest fighters in the series. Piccolo helps train Son Goten and Trunks to form Gotenks in an effort to stop Majin Buu.
