Steins;Gate is a Japanese science fiction and psychological thriller series. It began as a visual novel series created by 5bp. and Nitroplus in 2009. Since then, an anime television series aired in 2011 that was created by the animation studio, White Fox. The anime has been called “one of the most addictive sci-fi thrillers in recent anime history”, gathering a lot of favor from fans and critics. There has also been a Steins;Gate movie that was released in 2013. Many interesting characters make an appearance throughout the series. It's no wonder that there are a lot of figures to choose from! This 1/4 scale figure of Kurisu Makise will tower above the heights of most standard-sized figures. Standing at approximately 16.5” tall, she will definitely draw a lot of attention if fans add her to their collection. Her bunny outfit is crafted with expertise, the shine of her bodysuit looking much like the real thing. Despite the outfit being quite different from what she normally wears, she still has her shirt collar and necktie. Her hair is laid neatly across her figure, sculpted with care and finesse. Steins;Gate Series Story
The story of Steins;Gate is set in Akihabara, Tokyo in the year 2010. It follows self-proclaimed “mad scientist” Rintaro Okabe. He runs the “Future Gadget Laboratory” in an apartment along with two of his friends. When he is attending a conference, Okabe stumbles across the dead body of neuroscience researcher Kurisu Makise. He sends a text to one of his friends about it and is startled to find that the message had arrived long before he sent it. They discover that Kurisu is alive as a result of a cell phone operated microwave that can actually send texts back in time. From then, Kurisu creates a device that can send memories through the microwave, creating the ability to time travel.
Steins;Gate Series Development
Steins;Gate is more commonly known in the western world as the anime that was released in 2011. The anime was created by the studio White Fox and was based upon the 2009 visual novel of the same name. The anime was directed by Hiroshi Hamasaki and Takuya Satou and written by Jukki Hanada. Steins;Gate has received positive critical reviews in aspects such as the story and writing. The series was apparently not perfect though, being criticized somewhat for its pacing of the first half of the anime. The 2009 visual novel of Steins;Gate has been well received. It has sold more than one million copies across all platforms as of December 2015.
