League of Legends - Action Figures
League of Legends (also known as LoL or League) is a multiplayer online battle arena video game. It was released in 2009 and developed and published by Riot Games for Microsoft Windows and macOS. League of Legends is currently the world’s largest Esport, with several competitive teams across the globe. In League of Legends, players form two different teams of five to battle against each other. The goal is to destroy the opposing team’s Nexus which is the heart of their base. The players assume the rule of a champion, which is one of many characters with unique roles, abilities, and personalities. There are currently 151 champions to choose from, and many of them have figures dedicated to them. League of Legends Series Story
There is no direct storyline within the League of Legends game. Rather, there are small bits of lore that players can read and learn about through the perspective of each champion. While the game does not focus on the story, other forms of League of Legends media do have more of a storyline. The story of the extended universe is published through animated shorts, comics, and short stories that fans can find online. The story explores a collection of several different themes, mostly revolving around power struggles and fantasy narratives.
League of Legends Series Development
Riot Games was founded by Brandon Beck and Marc Merill. They had an idea for a spiritual successor to Defense of the Ancients(DOTA) that would operate as a stand-alone game. DOTA had attracted a significant player base, but it was a mod of Warcraft III and not a standalone game. Beck and Merill took this idea and created League of Legends, starting a new genre of gaming. The game was formally announced in October of 2008 and there were 17 champions available to play upon the beta release in April 2009. When the game was fully released in October of 2009, they had increased their options to 40 champions. League of Legends has generally received positive reviews, being praised for its accessibility and character designs. Its popularity can’t be understated with it being the most played PC game in North America and Europe in 2012.
