Darth Vader Star Wars - Action Figures
Even outside of the Star Wars franchise, Darth Vader is one of the most recognizable film characters of all time. He stands out with his jet black futuristic design and status as the original antagonist of the series. The addition of the prequels only adds more dimension to the man once known as Anakin Skywalker. With the recent end of the sequel trilogy and the success of The Mandalorian, the demand for Star Wars merchandise is on the rise. The original Sith Lord still holds his own as nearly every product line includes him in some way. Regarding figures, most Darth Vader replicas are highly detailed and highly-priced collectibles. Here are three more balanced Darth Vader figure options: “ArtFX+ Star Wars Darth Vader Cloud City Ver. (Re-release),” “Egg Attack Action Star Wars Episode V Darth Vader,” and “Movie Realization Star Wars Darth Vader Death Star Armor.”
Star Wars Darth Vader Cloud City Ver. (ArtFX+) Figure
Kotobukiya brings another high-quality figure to the ArtFX+ collection with this classic Darth Vader. The classic silhouette and armor stand out due to delicately detailed carving and beautiful texture painting. Vader rests confidently with his hands on his belt, feet spread wide and even. The figure includes a second left hand attachment to show off Vader’s Force abilities. As a kit, the final product will require light assembly. Egg Attack Action Star Wars Episode V Darth Vader
A shrunken, chibi proportioned Darth Vader will tempt you toward the dark side with this Beast Kingdom action figure. His helmet, one of the universal Star Wars symbols, is now appropriately sized proportionately to its importance: large. As a fully articulated action figure, fans can pose mini Vader anyway and anywhere they’d like. There’s also a lightsaber, additional hands for a Force choke, and a transparent stand for full scene recreation possibilities. However, the best tiny detail on the tiny Sith Lord? His front panel lights up.

Movie Realization Star Wars Darth Vader Death Star Armor
This imposing figure from Bandai shows Darth Vader is a slightly different light. In the movie realization series, characters from sci-fi films are reimagined as Edo Period warriors, and Darth Vader makes for the perfect Daimyo general. The Sith Lord’s usual costume is now a jet black, gold-accented full set of samurai armor. A hint of subtle dark red radiates out from the belted waist, adding more textural depth. Following the two swords system, Darth Vader’s iconic red lightsaber now accompanies a katana. His helmet, already inspired by samurai helmets, now displays a large Death Star crest ornament. This motif appears again on the kusazuri. Despite the level of detail, the figure is fully articulated with incredibly smooth joint movement and balance.

About Darth Vader
Darth Vader is the main antagonist in the first film trilogy. He is introduced as a cyborg serving the Empire trying to recover their superweapon, the Death Star, from the Rebellion. After Luke successfully destroys the Death Star, Vader becomes obsessed with finding him. During a lightsaber duel, Vader reveals that he is Luke’s father and tries to bring him over to the dark side. In the final battle of the original trilogy, after failing to turn Luke to the dark side, the Emperor tries to get Luke to kill Darth Vader. Luke refuses, stating that he cannot kill as a Jedi, like his father before him. As the Emperor attacks Luke with Force lightning, Vader steps in to save his son’s life, redeeming Anakin Skywalker. The prequel trilogy focuses on how Anakin came to join the dark side and become Darth Vader.
Other Important Star Wars Characters
Princess Leia is Luke’s twin sister, daughter of Anakin Skywalker, and Padmé Amidala. Padmé died giving birth to her twins and Leia was adopted by Bail Organa and Queen Breha. As an adult, she is a member of the Rebel Alliance using stealth and intelligence to smuggle information about the Empire. Despite being a princess, Leia proves to be an extremely capable battle commander and strategist. After defeating the Empire, Leia and Han have a son, Ben, who joins the First Order under the name Kylo Ren. Leia continues to fight in the Resistance, guiding Rey during her Jedi training.
Palpatine is the catalyst and main antagonist of the main Star Wars saga. He served as Senator of Naboo before betraying the Republic and becoming Emperor of the Galactic Empire. In the prequel trilogy, Palpatine carefully navigated and influenced Galaxy politics until being named Supreme Chancellor. As Emperor, Palpatine controlled most of the galaxy with authoritative military rule. He is also the leader of the Sith, using the name Darth Sidious. Palpatine is incredibly manipulative, converting both Anakin and Ben Solo to the dark side to undermine the Jedi. In the sequel trilogy, Palpatine rules the First Order using Snoke as a puppet figure.
