Saint Seiya - Figures
One of the biggest 80s anime to make it to the west is none other than Saint Seiya. The series began as a manga, running in the well-known Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 1986 to 1990. Animation began the same year as serialization by Toei Animation as a television show and a series of theatrical films. While the original arc of the Saint Seiya anime and manga wrapped in 1990, the last 20 years have seen a revival of spin-offs, such as Saint Seiya: Hades and the net series Knights of the Zodiac: Saint Seiya. With over 30 years of on-air material and hundreds of knights, saints, and villains to choose from, it’s difficult to pick the best figures to represent a legendary series. Three of the best figures the Saint Seiya series has to offer are “The Hades Chapter Goddess Athena: 15th Anniversary Ver.,” “D.D. Panoramation Saint Seiya Rising Dragon Punch- Dragon Shiryu,” and “Saint Cloth Myth Saint Seiya Pegasus Seiya: Revival Version.”

Saint Seiya Series Story
Seiya is one of many orphans sent to the Sanctuary in Greece to train and obtain one of the “cloths.” These bronze cloths of the Pegasus constellation make a protective armor worn by the 88 knights, or Saints, of the goddess Athena. Seiya awakens his inner power to become the Pegasus Saint and returns to Japan to find his older sister has disappeared. He then makes a deal with Saori Kido, granddaughter of the Sanctuary organizer, to find his missing sister. Saori promises to organize a search for her if Seiya enters the Galaxian Wars: a tournament for surviving Bronze Saints to compete for the strongest Cloth. However, the tournament is interrupted by a vengeful Bronze Saint whose actions reveal a long plot of conspiracy against the goddess Athena.
