Black Rock Shooter is a Japanese media franchise that is based on the characters that were created by Ryohei Fuke. The plot surrounds a girl called Black Rock Shooter with black hair and a blazing blue eye. The original illustration from Fuke inspired a song of the same name by Supercell, which then gained a lot of popularity. Later, a 50-minute original video animation based on the franchise was created. Each piece of media that has been released takes place in its very own separate universe. However, many of them include the same characters. This Nendoroid Figure of Strength features her standing at approximately 3.9” tall. Despite her small stature, she still most definitely looks like a force to be reckoned with. Black Rock Shooter Chariot: TV Animation Ver. Figure

This figure of Chariot features her as she appears within the Black Rock Shooter TV animation. Standing at approximately 5.5” this figure is non-scale and articulated for more posing options. There are some interchangeable face and hand parts as well, for fans to enjoy more variety. She is equipped with her massive shield, sword, and spiky crown for posing. Black Rock Shooter Series Story

Each piece of media within the Black Rock Shooter franchise takes place within its own universe. However, they each focus on the main character, Black Rock Shooter. The Black Rock Shooter manga series follows Black Rock Shooter and her partner, Ron. They venture to the world between heaven and earth, Hazma, where stagnant souls are trapped. It is up to Black Rock Shooter to help save these souls from becoming demons so they can ascend to heaven. In Black Rock Shooter: The Game, she awakens in a futuristic battlefield where aliens have invaded Earth. She must fight off the aliens while also working to regain her memories.

Black Rock Shooter Series Development

The entire Black Rock Shooter franchise began with a simple illustration by illustrator Ryohei Fuke. He posted it on his blog in December of 2007 where it was seen by Ryo of Supercell. They were inspired to create a song of the same name based on the character. Ryohei Fuke joined with Supercell and provided illustrations to be used within the music video for the song. The joint project was later posted on Nico Nico Douga in 2008. The popularity of Black Rock Shooter truly began to skyrocket, the video gaining millions of views on the website. Later, there was a 50-minute OVA released based on the franchise. Many other forms of media followed soon after including an anime, manga, and some video games.
