Mega Man Series Story

The beginning of the Mega Man story is fairly simple. It features a robot who is named Rock, who was created by Dr. Light and Dr. Wily. His main function is to serve as a lab assistant for the two until disaster strikes. Dr. Wily nefariously reprogrammed all of Dr. Light’s robots, and Rock was converted into a fighting robot. His new purpose was much more important now, as he now had to defend the world from Dr. Wily’s robots. This was the beginning of the character, Mega Man.

Mega Man Series Development

The Mega Man franchise began with one video game of the same name published by Capcom in 1987. The development team for the first game was actually quite small, consisting of only six people. Because there were not a lot of people to work on the project, the developers worked very hard and were often stretched thin, responsible for many different tasks to make the game work. Luckily, all of their hard work was a resounding success, because the game was well-received by critics. However, it did not particularly sell well. Despite that, the developers kept going with the project and created more games for the series. The two immediate sequels ended up being more popular, drawing the spotlight on the Mega Man franchise. Today there are countless forms of media dedicated to the character. Video games, movies, comics, television appearances, and more have brought this series to life.
