Marvel Comics Series Story
There has been a large series of stories and comic book series created by Marvel Comics. The first comic book published under the name of Marvel Comics was Journey into Mystery #69. The Journey Into Mystery story involved a series of horror comics. It later transitioned into more stories about science fiction and giant monsters in the late 1950s. Journey into Mystery was also the series that introduced the iconic Marvel character, Thor. This feature also included another infamous supervillain, Thor’s brother Loki.
Marvel Comics Series Development
Marvel Comics initially started under the name Timely Publications. It was created by Pulp-magazine publisher Martin Goodman in 1939. Goodman had created Timely Publications because he wanted to get involved with the growing world of comic book publication. This turned out to be a very good choice, as his success would shape the pop culture of the modern world. Timely Publications saw its first publication, Marvel Comics #1 in October 1939. Timely Publications did well until the 1950s, where superheroes began to fall out of fashion during post-war America. Timely Publications became Atlas Comics, which did not particularly have any big hits. Then, in 1961, the first comic under the Marvel Comics name was born. This era is what truly has shaped the Marvel franchise, and is the reason that it is so popular today.
