OtapediaFood Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma - Figures

During the 2010s, Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma was a staple in the Weekly Shonen Jump lineup. Gourmet manga has been popular for decades, but no one else did it quite like Soma and his friends. Aside from mouth-watering depictions of gourmet dishes, Food Wars! made a name for itself with its suggestive, and sometimes borderline hentai, character art. This art, especially featuring the largely female cast, is what attracted such a dedicated fanbase. Most fans have a favorite girl in the series and as such most of the series figures reflect this love. Here are three of some of the best figures, and some of the best girls, Food Wars! has to offer. These figures are “Rindo Kobayashi Bunny Ver. 1/4 Scale Figure,” “Nendoroid Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma: The Third Plate Megumi Tadokoro,” and “Ikumi Mito 1/7 Scale Figure.”

Rindo Kobayashi Bunny Ver. 1/4 Scale Figure

Despite being the main antagonist, Rindo Kobayashi has a large fanbase, as well as the most suggestive bunny figure for the Food Wars! series. Her feline eyes and fangs contrast with the timid nature of a rabbit, enhancing the racy appeal of this revealing figure. The main bodice is high gloss with real fabric fishnet tights, heightening the realistic feel. Her long red hair tumbles down her raised arms, stopping mid-back to show off her cute bunny tail. The relaxed, if not seductive, pose raises her chest--which the bodice barely contains. A bowtie collar, bunny ears, wrist cuffs, armbands, and high heels complete the outfit. Fans of Rindo bought out this figure during pre-order, proving it’s too hot to keep on the shelves.

Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma: The Third Plate Megumi Tadokoro (Nendoroid)

There is no better figure for the sweet and good-natured Megumi than a Nendoroid. The chibi roundedness softens her already adorable standard smile, framed by her signature twin braids. Two more faceplates, a serious expression, and a cartoonishly overwhelmed face round out Megumi’s personality. The included accessories show off her culinary skills. One is a ladle and tasting dish and the other is her triumphant Autumn Election Preliminary dish: Goosefish Dobu-Jiru Curry. Fans can pose Megumi next to the large hooked monkfish, knife in hand, recreating her skillful preparation of the difficult dish. Megumi is the first Nendoroid released for Food Wars! and the only Nendoroid for the series so far.

Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma Ikumi Mito 1/7 Scale Figure

Despite her smaller presence in the series, Ikumi Mito remains a fan favorite. This figure captures her impactful design. Her school uniform is altered with the button-down shirt tied to show off her toned abs and unbuttoned enough to display her American flag bra. Her mini skirt is short enough to provide easy access to her butcher knives, strapped to her thighs. Her tall laced boots emphasize the length of her legs. She’s tanned and blond. That coupled with her mastery of meat makes her as American as possible in a Japanese culinary institute. Fans appreciate the dedication to her character, down to her confident pose, hand on hip, and the delicately crafted ahoge.
