OtapediaVenom - Action Figures

Venom is a fictional character that appears within the Marvel Comics series. This character is not human, in fact it is a sentient alien symbiote that survives by bonding with a host and taking over them. Usually, the life force it takes over is human, and the human who survives the bond will receive enhanced powers. The human will then begin referring to themselves as “Venom”. Venom’s first appearance was in The Amazing Spider-Man #252 in 1984. Since that first appearance, the character has been featured in a variety of other platforms including films, video games, and animated series. Because of Venom’s popularity as a villain, there are several different action figures available depicting the character. Some of the popular options are: the Agent Venom Statue, the Kai Venom Figure, and the Maximum Carnage Fine Art Statue.

Venom Series Story

The story of Venom begins with its first human host, Spider-Man. It joins with Spider-Man to form a powerful being with powers enhanced beyond any human capabilities. Spider-Man eventually separates from Venom, having discovered it’s true, villainous nature. Venom went on to then merge with a series of other hosts, Eddie Brock being the most notable of these. With Eddie Brock as its host, Venom quickly established itself as a threat to Spider-Man, becoming his archenemy. Venom does not always stay completely evil though, as it transitions into an anti-hero who fights both with and against superheroes.

Venom Series Development

Venom was originally developed for a very simple reason. It was originally meant to just be a new costume for Spider-Man, but it became much, much more. The character was actually created by a Marvel Comics reader named Randy Schueller, and Marvel purchased the idea for $220. The Eddie Brock incarnation of Venom has been the most famous within the series. It was rated 22nd in the Greatest Villain IGN’s Greatest Comic Villains of All Time. There has been great praise of this character across all platforms from video games, comics, films, and many more.
