The figure recreates her appearance in the SSR “Awakening Rivalry” card from the mobile game, including her blush. She stands with her legs wide, holding her guitar in her left hand slightly out from her body. Her right hand is raised up and out with her red pick in her hands. The performance outfit in the card has been recreated as well as completed: her feet were not visible in the card and now she wears mismatched red and black tall boots. The sheer black bustle covered in red kiss marks is perfectly translucent and follows the exact fold pattern as shown in the card. All of her accessories from the bracelets, bandanas, and scrunchies on her arms to her layered red and white studded belts are meticulously carved and painted.

BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! Kasumi Toyama School Days Premium Figure

Poppin’ Party’s leader, Kasumi Toyama, shoots a finger gun in Sega’s Premium Figure line. She wears the brown Hanisakigawa Girls’ High School uniform with a sailor-style collar and red ribbon accent. The mini skirt of the uniform is pleated, stopping above mid-thigh long before the hem of her dark blue knee socks. Her dark brown loafers look like soft leather, creased where Kasumi lightly pops her left foot. She has her hair styled in her trademark star-shaped buns with red star barrettes holding back the left side of her bangs. The ends of her hair and her mini skirt flounce with movement, indicating a playful bounce in Kasumi’s pose. Her bright purple eyes are printed to match the exact art style of the mobile game.

Nendoroid BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! Yukina Minato Stage Outfit Ver. Figure

Fan favorite and Roselia lead vocalist Yukina Minato appears a second time in Good Smile Company’s Nendoroid line. This version features her in her stage outfit, which reflects the goth rock music of her band. The layered purple, gray, and black ruffles of her voluminous skirt are raised up and out, sculpted to signify a dramatic turn. Her long silvery violet hair follows the same movement. Underneath there’s a peek of her dangling blue pendant earrings. On top of her head, she wears her signature hair clip of black and blue roses and black and purple feathers. The figure comes with a mic stand and an additional dramatic hand part to stage a performance. She comes with three face plates: a cool gaze, singing performance face, and flustered blush.

BanG Dream! Series Story

BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! centers on Kasumi Toyama, a cheerful, energetic high school student. When she was little, Kasumi heard a sparkling sound which she describes as the “Star Beat” when looking at the stars. Ever since she’s been searching for something to make the Star Beat sound again. On the way home from her new high school, Kasumi sees a star-shaped guitar at a pawn shop and hears the fateful sound. She immediately buys it, intent on forming a band. The anime follows her journey meeting the other members who would eventually form the band Poppin’ Party. They perform at the Galaxy Live House, one of the main map locations in the app game. As they practice and perform, they run into other local girl bands, such as the punk rock band, Afterglow, and ultra-cool Roselia.

BanG Dream! Series Development

BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! began when Bushiroad president Takaaki Kidani wanted to create another multimedia franchise to match the success of Love Live! and Love Live! Sunshine. In 2015, Ko Nakamura wrote the original story for the project as a 12 chapter manga. After numerous revisions to character designs, a second manga came out in 2016 that set the main story and characters for the rest of the franchise. Noriyasu Agematsu eventually signed on to produce the music. Over 2016, the additional bands were cast and an anime and game went into development. Both came out in early 2017. The first season of the anime got mixed reviews, leading to a greater emphasis on game marketing. The game surpassed 4 million downloads within the first six months. Fans and critics credit the game for the franchise’s popularity, though reviews reflect the anime improves in later seasons.
